GLOBAL
CITIZENSHIP
Presentation by Group 4
Global Citizenship
Being part of a global
community,
recognizing that we
are all part of one
world and acting with
respect, care, and
responsibility for
people and the planet.
IMPORTANCE OF
GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP
Being a global citizen helps us:
Solve problems together
(like climate change or
poverty)
Respect and appreciate
other cultures and
lifestyles
Create a peaceful and fair
world for everyone
Understand how our
actions affect others
Main Qualities of a
Global Citizen
1. Awareness of Global Issues
A global citizen stays informed
about what is happening around
the world. This includes problems
like:
Climate change – how pollution
and waste hurt the planet
Poverty – how many people live
without enough food, clean
water, or shelter
Human rights – making sure
everyone is treated fairly and
equally
2. Respect for Diversity
Global citizens understand
that people have different
languages, cultures, religions,
and beliefs. They:
Listen to others with an
open mind
Avoid discrimination or
unfair treatment
Celebrate differences
instead of judging them
3. Responsibility and Action
It’s not enough to just know what’s
wrong — global citizens take action,
such as:
Recycling and saving energy
Helping local communities or
global charities
Using their voice to speak out
against injustice
4. Compassion and Empathy
A global citizen cares about others.
Even if someone is far away, we
should treat them like our neighbor.
Helping others in need, donating, or
simply being kind is part of this.
5. Cooperation and
Peacebuilding
Global citizens work together
with people from all
backgrounds. They:
Solve problems through
communication and
teamwork
Stand against war, hate, or
violence
Promote peace and
fairness in school,
community, and the world
Examples of Global
Citizenship in Everyday
Life
Recycling at home or school to
reduce waste and protect the
environment
Donating clothes or food to
help those in need
Participating in cultural
exchange programs or learning
new languages
Joining a campaign for equality
or environmental protection
Helping a classmate who is
new or from another country
feel welcome
GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP
PRACTICES
Stay curious about
global events and issues
Show kindness and
respect to everyone
Volunteer or help in local
community events
Take care of nature and
avoid waste
Use social media to
spread awareness, not
hate
THANK YOU FOR
