SAP has a broad range of business applications (each spoke on the wheel is an SAP application for sale). Each SAP application is pre-integrated with the other applications. Many also have objects that have a spatial characteristic, such as an address or Functional Location. If we integrate with one of these and have permission to access other components, then essentially all of the pre-integrated data within SAP is available for display and query and analysis within GIS with little or no custom integration code. Uses get a map-centric view and access to their data.
