• Online Purchase - Multiple gift certificates are delivered and paid in real time with available modes of their
payment such as credit card and PayPal. A personalized gift certificate code along with a QR code is sent to the
recipient upon purchase.
• Easy Redemption - Pay via gift certificate during checkout on the online store. Scan your QR code to redeem
the gift certificate in-store or online. Email alerts to recipient any time gift certificate code is used helps prevent
theft.

Configure Gift Certificate Product

Purchasing a Gift Certificate on the Web Store
Customers purchase a gift certificate from the web store for friends and relatives by entering the recipient’s name, email address, a personalized
message and then choose a gift certificate amount from the available denominations. The shopper can also choose a customized card value if
desired. Shoppers can buy multiple quantities of a gift certificate in a single order, and the shopper receives all gift certificate codes in a single
email.

Purchasing a Gift Certificate via In-store Edit in the Manager Panel
As purchasing a gift certificate requires recipient’s name and email address, the CSR needs to purchase a gift certificate via ‘In-Store edit’. This
feature logins in the CSR to the web store as the customer where he adds the gift certificate to shopper’s cart and navigates back to the Manager
Panel to complete the purchase.

• Personalized & mobile friendly emails -
Personalize the gifting experience for your
customers while customizing the email to suit your
brand and increasing brand recognition. Emails are
mobile friendly, making gift certificates handy and
readily available for redemption at all times.
• Receive a QR Code - gift certificates are paid and
delivered in real time. An email with GC code and an
unique QR code is triggered as soon as GC is
purchased.
• Resend gift certificate email - The CSR can view
and resend the gift certificate code email if required.

Gift certificate delivery updates
The sender also receives three distinct emails informing him about the gift receipt purchase confirmation, delivery to the recipient and a read receipt
once the recipient opens his gift certificate email. This ensures that the sender stays updated about his gift certificate purchase and avoid any
misuse of the same.

Comprehensive View of the Gift Certificate History in the Manager Panel
The CSR can track the balance pending on a customer’s gift certificates, the web store it was used at, along with other details such as the
currency, recipient’s name, amount etc. This record is downloadable and can be a good starting off point when planning customer centric
promotions and other offers on your web store.

Redeem Gift Certificate using QR code
Customers can use gift certificates as a payment method during checkout to make partial or full payment. Customers can input the gift certificate code or scan
the QR code and upload the image during checkout. gift certificate payments are treated as advance payment/pre-payment as they are charged upfront and gift
certificate balance deducted accordingly.

Let CSR Accept Payment via Gift Certificates – Partially or Fully!
CSRs can also accept payments via gift certificate. They can use gift certificates gifted to a customer or purchased by a customer and accept
payments against orders placed via the Manager Panel.

Gift Certificate Redemption Email Alert
An email alert is sent to the gift certificate recipient any time the gift certificate is used towards payment for an order either via the Manager Panel or
the web store. This ensures security against theft of gift certificate code.

Expire Gift Certificates manually via the Manager Panel
The CSR has the option to manually ‘Expire’ a gift certificate from the Manager Panel. Only gift certificates with a pending balance can be
expired. This feature can help protect a customer’s gift certificate from theft and inappropriate use.

Returning an order paid via Gift Certificate
If a gift certificate payment was made on a sales order then an appropriate refund is made to the gift certificate account during returns. Any
balance over and above the gift certificate amount would be refunded to the credit card or any other payment method selected in the return
order form.

Gift Certificates Accounting
• Accounting in case of gift certificate purchases is no different than any other sales transaction. Whenever a gift
certificate item is purchased, it is recognized as actual revenue and recorded as sale on the balance sheet in
the Microsoft Dynamics ERP item master, thus matching the sales transaction and bank record.
• When a gift certificate is redeemed, the payment hits the GC account. As no money is deposited to the bank, the
bank record and GC account again tally with each other.
• In case the shopper never redeems the gift certificate, the GC is never treated as a liability to the merchant as it
was treated as sale during purchase.

Return process
Online return requests
Return requests paid partially or fully via gift
certificate can be submitted online via
automated checkpoint ensuring only valid
returns are submitted.
Warehouse receives items
Returned merchandize is received in the specified
warehouse. The process of receiving and inspecting the
merchandize is based on the back-office Dynamics ERP.
Different ERPs provide a slightly different process for
receiving returns.
Refund to gift certificate
When return invoice with negative amount is
generated, the payment is refunded to the gift
certificate and the remaining amount is
refunded to the other payment method used
during order placement.

Gift Certificate Report
The Manager Panel provides gift certificate report that can be used to see shopper’s response for gift certificate in your
system.
