We recently held the 2016 Going Green in Public Facilities conference (GGC2016) which was well attended by public works professionals from all over the country. The event took place from the 18th (Students & Young Professionals Day), 19th and 20th October (Professionals Day) and was aimed at providing a knowledge platform to enable private and public sector built environment professionals to exchange key information aimed at greening public infrastructure projects in the country. Representatives included the National Public Works Department, Eastern Cape Public Works (see invitation below), Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development, KZN Public Works (GC2017 hosts), Northern Cape government and Limpopo Public Works. The GGC2016 is fully accredited CPD accredited for architects and engineers and enables the professionals to advance their skills sets within the green building economy in South Africa.
