• Tineola bissellialla being their official name are also known as the
common clothes moth. They are a type of fungus moth. The female
moth lay 30-200 larvae which sick to surfaces with a glue like
substance. These hatch 4-10 days later into near-microscopic white
caterpillars.

3. The Larvae
• They immediately begin to feed. The larvae is seen as a serious
pest in houses as they feed on clothing, carpets and other
household fabrics such as curtains and bed sheets. Unlike many
moths that are attracted to light, this breed prefer low
light settings.

•Moth spray. You can buy these from most super
markets and this will help you on your way to
removing them.

• Frequent vacuuming! It is very important that if you
are suffering with this pest, you vacuum regularly to try to clear
them from your carpets. Especially the corners of the room as they
love the dark areas. Once that is done, every time be sure to clear
out the vacuum bags into the bin and outside the property to avoid
the larvae from hatching inside your home.

• They love to eat all types of fabrics. It is crucial that you clean all
fabrics you believe they be feasting on. This can include clothing,
towels, curtains, bed lining, carpets and fabric furniture.

• Try freeze the fabrics. Put the item into a plastic bag, put it into your
freezer, leave it there for 2-3 days. Take it out the freezer and then
allow it to get to room temperature. Then again insert it back into
the freezer for another two days. This will help to ensure that the
pests will not survive the freeze.
