Social media has expanded beyond marketing and become a more prominent tool for organizational learning and communication. Organizations adding social media as an internal training and communication tool often do so to duplicate the success of marketing, leverage unused features in existing technology, follow an industry trend or appeal to younger workers. However, successful social learning implementations require a strategy and a way to measure success. Join this webinar to explore case studies of successful social learning efforts and discover the training and communication challenges that social media can address.
Objectives: • Consider the challenges that social learning can address • Identify and measure social learning success
What is getbusy? It is a local coalition that was formed in September 2012 among Greek NGOs, industry and academia. With youth unemployment raising above 60% the coalition aimed to enable Greek youth, especially unemployed youth, to adapt an active rather than passive behavior.
The coalition was led by HePIS, Microsoft Greece and Peoplecert; it was financed by the global Microsoft Youthspark program and carried out via the cooperation of: The American College of Greece (Deree College), the ALBA Graduate Business School and 13 more stakeholders and sponsors.

Building a digital environment to support the development of your students’ d...Jisc
Speaker: Sarah Davies, head of higher education and student experience, Jisc.
This interactive workshop will discuss how we can ensure our digital environment offers our students’ opportunities to develop their digital capabilities.
We will share the outcomes from our recently completed Jisc student digital experience tracker surveys of over 22,000 students from higher education, further education and skills as well as online learners. These findings will highlight key areas we need to be addressing to ensure our students’ digital capabilities are supported.
Participants will also explore resources and tools they can use in their own organisation to support their practice.
This e-guide is addressed to professional trainers and educators willing to extend and develop their knowledge and awareness in the field of digital training, more particularly when delivering through an e-learning platform.
The Guide is a product made thanks to the DIGITAL-S in rural Areas project.
The project is carrying out by 5 partners: CEIPES – International Centre for the Promotion of Education and Development (Italy), Familles Rurales (France), SSW Collegium Balticum (Poland), INFODEF- Instituto para el Fomento del Desarrollo y la Formación (Spain) and CPIP – Center for promoting lifelong learning (Romania) and it is funded by the European Commission within Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 2 (Strategic Partnership for Innovation, Exchange of good practices and for adult education).
DIGITAL-S aims to experiment and develop the effective use of ICTs for trainers willing to keep pace with digital technology in the field of training. The project will particularly focus on distance education learning for adult learners from rural areas having urgent specific needs to enhance their digital skills as an essential European key skill.
A presentation made to a Danish delegation comprising policy makers and practitioners. The theme for their visit was the "learning journey" and "be inspired by best practice" and it focused on Dorset's Jurassic Coast, traditional ports and resorts, and the New Forest National Park. The PI presented on how Digital Destinations contributed to destination development and marketing.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The motto of Getbusy.gr is “unleash your potential” and achieves that by giving
free access to educational material, divided into four categories. The
informational and educational material of Gebusy.gr largely meets the priorities
set by the EU on the digital skills. It also contributes simultaneously to two basic
problems: the digital divide and the opportunity divide.
