Gestational Diabetes and Its Symptoms
What Is Gestational Diabetes?
 When diabetes is discovered for the first time while pregnant, it is called gestational
diabetes (gestation).
 It affects how your cells use sugar, similar to other types of diabetes (glucose).
 High blood sugar levels brought on by gestational diabetes can harm both you and
your newborn child's health.
 There is some good news despite the fact that any pregnancy problem is alarming. Eat
well-balanced meals, exercise, and, if required, take treatment to manage gestational
diabetes during pregnancy. You and your baby can stay healthy and avoid a
challenging delivery by managing your blood sugar.
Gestational Diabetes Symptoms
1.Hunger
 It is good for you to eat a lot of food. Food helps us the energy we require, the
building blocks for growth, preservation, and healing, as well as everything else
our bodies need to function.
 While eating a lot of food is good for us, we also need to be careful not to
consume too much.
 Feeling constantly hungry is one of the signs of gestational diabetes. In turn, this
will force them to eat more than they normally do.
 Eating excessively is both a symptom and a possible trigger of gestational
diabetes.
2.Dry Mouth
 Our mouths are extremely moist by nature. This is made possible by the substance
known as saliva, which is more significant to humans than most people realize. For
instance, it helps in the breakdown of our meals and softens it in preparation for
digestion. The fluid's anti-septic qualities also aid to prevent infections in the
mouth.
 Our mouths would quickly dry out if the body stopped producing or secreting
saliva into them.
 This can quickly become uncomfortable and lead to a number of other problems.
 If you experience a dry mouth, which is a symptom of gestational diabetes, you
should get checked out.
3. Thirst
 Most people require between 2.5 and 4 liters of fluid per day, depending on their
size and activities.
 We just cannot survive without water; we could only go a few days without it. We
have developed a sensation that we recognize as thirst to help guarantee that we
do get the water we need.
 People with gestational diabetes may become more thirsty than they normally
would be, and they may discover that drinking does not completely satisfy their
thirst.
 Your body wants you to drink more liquids to help flush away the extra glucose in
your blood, resulting in this occurs.
4. Urinating Frequently
 Our bladders must be drained when they are full. This implies that we will need to
visit the washroom multiple times every day.
 How much fluid we consume will affect how often we urinate, among other things.
Health disorders, such as gestational diabetes, are another factor.
 As previously indicated, individuals with the illness will consume more liquids in
an effort to try and flush out extra glucose from the blood.
5. Tiredness
 It makes sense that pregnant women would have increased tiredness. This means that
while being tired may not always make one assume something is wrong, pregnant
women appropriate decision see a professional if they are feeling very exhausted. It
can be a symptom of a health issue like gestational diabetes.
 With gestational diabetes, the patient is unable to utilize glucose for energy
production.
 The patient will consequently experience constant tiredness, even after getting plenty
of rest.
 One of the causes of the patient's constant hunger is that their body is begging for
additional energy.
How is gestational diabetes managed?
 If gestational diabetes is identified in your pregnancy, you might require more
frequent checkups.
 Your blood sugar levels will be monitored often by your healthcare provider. You
might need to use a device called a glucose meter to check your blood sugar
levels at home.
 To control gestational diabetes, some women need to take treatment. But with
proper nutrition and exercise, the majority of women can manage their blood
sugar levels.
