Georgina Liggins
Georgina Liggins came to Communications Management for work experience in 2012 for a three week
period. This was her first opportunity to gain experience of the workplace.
She quickly integrated into our team working initially with our client services group and later with our
consultancy team.
She showed a great willingness to learn and understand our profession and took on projects
enthusiastically. She questioned the briefs she was given to ensure she was clear about needs and
outcomes and was proactive both in seeking to improve the way systems worked and in taking on new
work and challenges. Georgina showed herself to be highly results and service focused. She was keen
to reflect on her learning and showed a self-awareness well beyond her years.
We entrusted Georgina with a range of projects and she took on the responsibilities we gave her with relish,
showing good organisational skills, time management and the ability to meet deadlines. She has excellent
interpersonal skills and worked well with people at all levels in our organisation. She is confident, articulate
and sensitive in her dealings with people.
While she was with us Georgina researched and presented a document on the future skills required in our
industry and this has been used to inform our training plans for the team. Georgina had no previous
knowledge of our industry and quickly developed her learning and understanding of our world. She also
wrote a blog entitled 'What should schools do to advise their students before results day', which is now
posted on the Communications Management website. Georgina had not previously written for a blog and
her contribution was only minimally edited by our team. She worked on a range of research projects which
she fulfilled assiduously and thoroughly. She contributed fully and creatively to a brainstorming session.
She also worked with our administration team undertaking a range of tasks in which she showed excellent
attention to detail.
