George Harrison was born in 1943 in Liverpool, England. He took up guitar in his teenage years and met Paul McCartney on a bus, eventually forming The Beatles. As the lead guitarist and songwriter for The Beatles, Harrison achieved international fame and success. After The Beatles broke up, Harrison had a successful solo career and produced films. He was deeply interested in Indian culture and organized the famous Concert for Bangladesh. Harrison died in 2001 from cancer at the age of 58.
