Introduction I chose to do a power point presentation on China’s Geography because of the different types of landscapes there are. There is a lot of city but also mountains and other types of land to see and explore.
The eastern half of the country, its seacoast fringed with offshore islands. A region of fertile lowlands, foothills and mountains, deserts, steppes, and subtropical areas. Freshwater habitats are of massive importance to China, and a huge percentage of the population is directly dependent on wetlands. Seven of the most important rivers in the world begin in the highlands of Western China. China's northeast is the focus for much of the country's freshwater marshes. Chinese Wetlands
China contains a variety of forest types Moist conifer forests can have thickets of bamboo as an understorey Subtropical forests, which dominate central and southern China, support an astounding 146,000 species of flora Tropical rainforest and seasonal rainforests, though confined to Yunnan and Hainan Island, actually contain a quarter of all the plant and animal species found in China. Famous giant panda, golden monkey and South China tiger also live in the Subtropical forests. Chinese Forests
The 6.3 million residents of Hong Kong live on the Kowloon Peninsula Hong Kong now has one of the most dense populations in the world (13,874 per square mile or 5351 per square kilometer Hong Kong had a large base of human resources but no natural resources Now Hong Kong is one of the most productive and wealthy areas of Southeast Asia. China promises to maintain Hong Kong's existing economic, social, and legal systems for at least 50 years. Hong Kong City
The Great Wall Of China The Great Wall of China was built over 2,500 years ago It was built to protect against invaders from the north. Troops would patrol the wall to defend China against attack. Once over 6,000 miles long, the wall is now about 3,750 miles long. It has been estimated that somewhere in the range of 2 to 3 million Chinese died as part of the centuries-long project of building the wall
China has a beautiful garden called The Botanical Garden Built in May, 1993, the rose garden is covering an area of 7 hectares China boasts the largest number of species of the lilac genus The Bamboo Garden is specially built for growing and displaying bamboos The Cherry Valley lies in the west foot of Shou’an Mountain, also called Tuigu and The Zhous Garden.
Chinese Panda Bear The Giant Panda is only found in China It is also an endangered species For exhibition, reproduction and research, 240 Giant Pandas were captured from the wild but at present time only about 100 still survive in zoos and natural breeding centers Shanghai Zoological Park began to raise Giant Pandas in 1957.
The Wei River valley has a much drier and somewhat colder climate Average winter temperatures are about 32 °F (0 °C), and the frost-free period lasts for about 240 days Total precipitation is between 20 and 25 inches (500 to 640 mm), mostly falling between May and October China's warmest weather occurs in the southeastern subtropical provinces, where the summers are hot and humid temperatures decrease from south to north
Closing Slide I would love to visit China to see the beautiful landscape Also, the animals of china There are a lot of sites to see I would love to take my own pictures of these places.
