include programmes ‘My Mad Fat Diary’, ‘Skins’ and

 These programmes all come under the genre of teen
drama, where there is a major focus on young adult
characters alongside a dramatic and realistic plot
 Teen dramas came into prominence in the early
1990s, in particularly alongside the popularity of the
Fox series ‘Beverly Hills’
 Our film touches on the teen drama genre as it is
focusing on teenage girls and everyday life as a
teenage girl, including relationships, mental health,
friendship and the role of the media
 This also links with our target audience as we want
our short film to appeal to young women
 A film that is true to life accurately
represents real events or themes
 Examples of true to life films include The
Invisible Woman and Lovelace
 Because our short film etches upon themes
such as mental health awareness and
relationships inspired from a combination of
stories from us personally, we feel that our
