this is my GCSE coursework.

1. Genre boundaries can be
flexible and you can get genre
hybrids.
Genre= a system of
symbols/signs/themes by
which a particular genre can
be recognised. E.g. the
western= cowboys, horses,
guns, hats and mountains.
Genre= a contract between the
audience and film makers.
Audiences build up generic
memory and can anticipate
things happening- so the director
can play on this.
Key word:
Dystopian-
This means bad.
Dystopian Future-
This means a bad future.

2.  There is many types of genres:
 Horror
 Thriller
 Romantic
 Action
 Science fiction
 Western
 Comedy
 Musical
 War

3. Horror films can be scary,
creepy, spooky and many
more things. Some
examples of a horror film:
 Chucky
 Anabelle.

4. Thriller films have a lot in them
like literature and are
characterized by the emotions
created for each character part.

5. Romantic films are usually
based on love stories.
Couples that meet, get
married and then have kids
and then live happy ever
after.

7. Terminator 2 is a science-fiction genre. I
thought that terminator 2 was a science
fiction due to the man that couldn’t get hurt.
The terminator could san people and at the
beginning of the film he teleports in.
the man must be good if he hasn’t killed
anybody yet.

8. This genre is western. This includes
cowboys,guns,hats and mountains.
This can be on Indians also.

11. o War films are usually based on the army
and the armed forces.
