American churches have failed the United States by not speaking out more strongly against torture. While over 10,000 Americans have signed an anti-torture statement, that is only a small fraction of the estimated 132 million Americans who attend religious services weekly. Torture is a form of violence that goes against principles of most major religions. It is also practically useless for eliciting useful information and damages America's reputation internationally when images emerge of American's torturing prisoners. A ban on torture is needed to protect both detainees' human rights and the moral authority and "soul of the nation."

Nestlé is reducing the sugar content in its Nesquik chocolate drink powder and updating its marketing to boost slowing sales. It has launched lower-sugar versions in the U.S. and Europe and plans further reductions. Nestlé recognizes that consumer tastes are changing, with demand growing for healthier options and less sugar. It is also overhauling marketing to better target digital native families. Through reformulations and a new advertising approach, Nestlé aims to make Nesquik a more sustainable brand for the long term.

Dear Sir,
I am a Chinese, graduated from Keele University (U.K.) in Electronics & Applied
Statistics with Operational Research years ago. I also obtained a Diploma for Management of
Smaller Companies from Chinese University of Hong Kong and after that, I was conferred an
MBA degree by the Oklahoma City University, U.S.A.
I have worked with Shun Hing Electric Service Centre as Assistant Manager in their
Audio/Visual Department from 1988 to 1991. My main responsibilities were assisted the
Department Head in structure re-organization, planning, policy-making, execution and
supervised the overall operation of the department.
In 1991, I have joined Y.S.Tso Ltd. as Customer Service Manager in charge of their
Customer Service Department. My main responsibilities were restructuring the department,
responsible for the department profit and lost, develop Customer service team, introduced
Maintenance Scheme, new product evaluation, spare parts inventory control. From 1994
onwards, I was further put in charge of the Warehouse and Transportation Department.
In 1995, Y.S.Tso Ltd. was taken over by Jebsen & Company Ltd. and from then, I was
appointed as General Manager in Logistics and Property Department of Jebsen & Company
Ltd. During these years, a Bar-code inventory control system was successfully implemented. I,
in 6 months time & with the cooperation of my staff, successfully completed the system and
maintained an important agency for the company. In the last two years, by re-engineering the
department and improving efficiency, I have managed to reduce the overall cost by 15% and
provide logistics service to two outside companies.
On the property side, I was responsible for the subletting, planning, renovation and
maintenance of all Jebsen’s office, Holiday house and industrial buildings in Hong Kong and
China. In addition, the scope of work included the scheduling of other services such as PABX,
IT cabling, Preventive maintenance scheme negotiation and all the movement of divisions
from one building to another or from one floor to another.
2. In June, 2003, I have joined bigboXX.com Limited as Manager – Facilities, Supply Chain
& Logistics. During these years, I have introduced KPI program in Warehouse and developed
two additional warehouses for Record Management Services. In addition, I have introduced
office relocation services and renovation services for the company. I have successfully
relocated Hutchsion Gobal Crossing Limited and Hutchsion Telecom Hong Kong Limited
from Whampoa Harbour Front to Terminal 9.
I have also successfully relocated our own warehouse – 189,000 sqft in March, 06 and
just within three weeks, all services are resumed normal.
I was with A.S. Watson, China from September,2006 to April,2008 to manage a
150,000 sqft Distribution Centre which is China Region Headquarter. I have introduced KPI
program in DC and consolidated 5 warehouses into one within 2 weeks. Furthermore, I have
implemented three new control systems (EXE 4000, Bar code tracking system and RF control
stock take system) successfully to improve the accuracy of the inventory and the efficiency of
the operation team. Within a period of six months, the picking efficiency has increased 3
times. With workload increased 40% but manpower has reduced 20%.
I was with Mannings China station in Guangzhou as Supply Chain Director from
December,2009 to April,2011. I was in charge of logistics team as well as inventory control
team. The major achievements are in three months that I have put the warehouse back on
track in terms of cost and operation. Inventory reduced 35% in six months. Introduced KPI
and lead the team to triple up their productivity. Total DC cost is reduced from 6.5% to Sales
down to 1.7% to Sales. It was management that counts. It is unfair to exaggerate what has
been done but I wish to have a chance to prove how it can be done.
From November,2011 till April,2012, I was working with Warnaco Co. Limited as
Distribution Manager to design and built their Regional DC in HK.
From April ,2012 till July,2015, I was Director of Business Optimization with Advance
Watch Co. (Far East) Ltd in charge of Logistics operation and inventory control. I was in-
charge of their factory warehouse as well as warehouse in 3PL in Shenzhen. The warehouse
was designed and built and relocated in Futain in year 2013.
For your easy reference, I have enclosed my full resume and I look forward to receiving
your favorable reply.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Isaiah K.L. Chan
