This document investigates how the volume and impact of positive and negative word-of-mouth (PWOM and NWOM) relate to age and gender. The study uses survey data from 20 categories to analyze differences in how much and what type of word-of-mouth men and women give, as well as how the impact of received word-of-mouth varies by age and gender. The results show that women generally give more PWOM than men, especially in categories aligned with culturally-accepted gender interests, but women provide proportionately less NWOM.
