The document discusses Earned Value Management (EVM) and how it can be used to effectively manage projects. EVM provides visibility into project performance by measuring the work completed (Earned Value), schedule performance (SPI), and cost performance (CPI). It helps identify issues early and determine the expected total cost. The document provides examples of how to set up EVM tracking in Microsoft Project and Excel using data from timesheets to measure actual work completed.

Accelerating Server Hardware Upgrades with PlateSpin Migrate P2PNovell
How long does it take to upgrade to a new server? Re-installing and configuring applications and patches is tedious, error-prone, time-consuming—and let's face it—boring. During this session, you will learn how physical-to-physical (P2P) conversions with PlateSpin Migrate can dramatically accelerate and automate this process, shorten the downtime window, and can even be scheduled to run unattended.
A Fully Redundant Luminis 5 InstallationWilliam Moore
In 2013 the University of Manitoba decided to upgrade its version of Luminis. The objective of this upgrade was to have a fully redundant installation throughout the whole stack.
This presentation will explain what was done to make the hardware, OS, Database, and Application layers redundant to meet this objective.

Systems management savings with Dell OpenManage on 13G Dell PowerEdge servers Principled Technologies
Administrators can spend their time doing routine tasks such as firmware updates, or they can spend their time on other initiatives to make your data center and your business more successful. Older servers keep admins focused on routine tasks instead of innovation because they just don’t have the capabilities to streamline management in a meaningful way to lessen the burden of routine management tasks.
In our hands-on tests, we found that Dell PowerEdge R730 servers with Dell OpenManage dramatically reduced the time it took to deploy, update, monitor, and maintain servers compared to completing the tasks manually on older systems. We estimate that you could save as much as 91.3 percent of administrator time—nearly 800 hours—over two years for a 200-server deployment.
Don’t let your older servers continue to be a time sink for administrators. By upgrading to new Dell PowerEdge R730 servers with new systems management features to handle routine tasks, you can potentially redirect those resources to innovation in other areas.
Optimize load handling for high-volume tests with IBM Rational Performance Te...Bill Duncan
Summary: When using IBM® Rational® Performance Tester for testing diversified protocols and large volume load simulations, it is essential to optimize the performance of your testing machines and tools, as well as your network and infrastructure. In this article, you will discover best practices that you can adopt to enhance the load generation capability of Rational Performance Tester per machine by configuring both the testing tool and the operating system. You will also learn about techniques that you can use to alleviate trivial errors that occur during large volume load simulations.
Implementing Electrical and Simulation Rule Checks to ensure Signal QualityEMA Design Automation
Join Matthew Harms as he discusses a unique multi-tiered strategy to board analysis & verification designed to enable designers of all skill levels to analyze their PCB designs early in the development cycle when the cost of change is the lowest. Matthew will show how Cadence has created a multi-tier analysis environment that lets designers start with a set of pre-defined Electrical Rule Checks (ERC) that can be run on the board to quickly identify areas of interest or concern all without the need for any complex models or configurations. Based on these initial 1st order results Matthew will show how design teams can then effectively target critical nets with 2nd order (Simulation Rule Checks) and 3rd order (Power Aware Signal Integrity) analysis as needed to simulate with greater detail and achieve complete electrical design signoff.

An Approach to Overcome Modeling Inaccuracies for Performance Simulation Sig...Pankaj Singh
RNM is finding prominence in functional verification signoff, However there is clear modeling gap when it comes to performance simulation of high-speed SerDes. Sometimes the pre-silicon simulation results show passing results with respect to Jitter tolerance (JTOL) specification which may not match the actual silicon validation results. These performance issues manifest due to inaccuracies of model where it may not comprehend the actual circuit behavior. There is no clear methodology to overcome these model gaps for performance simulation signoff.
This paper discusses in detail the techniques used to accurately model and verify high-speed SerDes systems for performance simulation.
