1. My Word is like a walking stick or staff that I’ve offered you for your journey
through life. It’s strong enough for you to lean on when you feel weary and
exhausted; it’s meant to assist you and make your journey easier.
I don’t
get the purpose
of this “walking
stick.” Just added
weight, if you
ask me. …
GEARED UP
However, a walking stick is only
fully useful when you depend on
it and use it. If instead
you carry the walking
stick on your back,
you miss out on
the assistance it
would give.
A message from Jesus

2. As you journey through
life, you can use My
Word to guide you, to
comfort you, to inspire
you, and to strengthen
you. Using this walking
stick doesn’t mean
that your journey will
be effortless or without
mishap or struggles;
you will still have some
of those. That’s life. My
Word can, however,
make those times easier
to bear. It can give you
courage to face any
challenge; it can shelter you during stormy weather; it can give you clear
coordinates toward your various destinations.
Aha!
So that’s how
this whole
“walking stick”
thing works!
Cool! It comes
with a built-in GPS!
Thanks, Jesus, for all
this great gear!

3. My Word can give you strength to walk on despite the struggles, to smile
despite any sorrow, to trust in Me despite any opposing circumstance.
So don’t neglect this important
gear for your journey. Rely on
it, depend on it, and realize that
I’ve given My Word to you so that
you can make full use of it and
benefit fully from it.
As you depend on it you will find
strength. You’ll become more
closely connected to Me and to
the power and strength of God.
Oh boy!
Look how far
I’ve come!
I’m not
going anywhere
without this
walking stick!
