Princeton University upgraded its telephone system to SIP to take advantage of a new building housing IT groups off campus. This provided an opportunity to improve communication capabilities and ensure staff could have a unified university experience even when working remotely. However, the tight implementation timeline and need to learn multiple new systems posed challenges. Going forward, Princeton aims to give students virtual SIP numbers and explore mobile UC technologies to better connect the university community.
