3. PREPARE YOUR “EMOTIONAL
GARBAGE”
• GET ½ CROSSWISE
• QUIETLY REFLECT ON THE NEGATIVE EMOTIONS,
STRESSFULL THOUGHTS, OR HURTFUL EXPERIENCES YOU’VE
BEEN CARRYING- IT COULD BE ANGER, FEAR, GUILT,
PRESSURE, SADNESS, ETC.
• WRITE THEM DOWN. YOU MAY WRITE WORDS, PHRASES, OR
EVEN DRAW SYMBOLS THAT REPRESENT THOSE FEELINGS.
4. KEEP IT HONEST AND PERSONAL
• THIS IS YOUR EMOTIONAL SPACE- YOU DO NOT NEED TO
SHARE IT WITH OTHERS.
• BE REAL. NO ONE WILL JUDGE YOU. THIS ACTIVITY IS FOR
YOUR SELF AWARENESS AND MENTAL HEALTH.
5. FOLD AND “THROW” IT AWAY
• ONCE YOU’RE DONE, FOLD THE PAPER AND PUT IT IN THE
TRASH BIN PROVIDED BY THE TEACHER
• THIS SYMBOLIZES YOUR DECISION TO LET GO OF
EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE THAT WEIGHS YOU DOWN.
6. • AS A PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
TEACHER, I HOPE I AM MAKING SENSE
TO ALL OF YOU. THIS IS NOT JUST A
SUBJECT FOR ME TO TEACH BUT ALSO A
WAY TO TOUCH YOUR LIVES DEEPER.
