• Player is presented with a
level that will fail if not
supported
• The player can buy and
use different blocks to
help support the structure
• Earthquake simulation
runs
• If the artifact doesn’t
break while the time
counts down, the player
can progress to the next
level

• Each level has a budget for the player
to use
• Each support block has a price tied to it
• Budget – support block price
• Then the player will get points
deducted if any of the support blocks
break

Poem Garden
• Pitch: A mindful pocket garden that
creates a memory for your day.
• Essential experience: create a
relaxing atmosphere for the player
in which they feel connected to
nature through meaning.
Idea 2
Gameplay loop
• Player is presented with a set number of
garden items
• They can place the items wherever they
choose to create a garden
• Once their garden is complete they can
click a button to progress
• This will then read out a poem from left
to right by looking at the plants they
placed in the garden
• The poem reading will be stored on their
device and act as a memory for the day
which they can go back and watch at any
time

• Easily accessible on a mobile device
• Quick and easy to do – able to fit into a daily routine
• A good way to practise mindfulness
• Creates memories – keeping track of each day you played
• You can go back and view the poem garden at any time
• The poems are actually created with meaning: the plants, statues, trees and
colours all link to commonly associated meanings especially in Japanese gardens.
Stretch Goals
• Create an algorithm that writes different types of poems (Haiku, Limerick, Free
verse etc.)
• Have the poem write itself in real time
• Link the mood of the poem and visuals up with the real-time weather and the time
of day
Overgrown Garden
• Pitch: Create your own garden
using the cuttings from overgrown
plants around you. Use the cuttings
to discover new plant breeds and
share them with friends.
• Essential experience: the feeling
of satisfaction through transforming
a messy space into a beautiful one.
Game Jam game: Sprout.
Create a diverse garden by collecting plants from around
the world and bringing them to your own garden.

• Plants can be placed near
other plants to create a
new breed in-between
• After the new breed has
been grown, seeds can be
harvested and it can be
planted again
• The player can also trade
seeds with their friends
• The player can unlock
decorative items for
reaching collection goals
