life ‘s game as we yet have to experience it!
YO UNIT Y
Society is in transition! People are searching for balance between prosperity and well-being. There are an
increasing number of local initiatives being set up by the community with the aim of organising society in
an alternative way. Can we truly see a sustainable and socially responsible means of existence in the future?
How will we survive in modern times without giving up our own self-respect and identity? It is time to reposi-
tion our societal values!

YOUNITY connects the words: “You” and “Unity” and represents, for the individual, a part of a greater whole
and is a project at the cutting edge of art and design. It is a piece of art which confronts people with their
personal responsibility within a society. It is also a tool in the form of a game especially designed to teach
people social values but also to choose values.
YOUNITY can be achieved by being the first to achieve self-realization but this can only be done in conjunc-
tion with fellow players. To do so the participants must amass various talents. The talents are linked to 5
core values in zones on the edge and in the middle of the board. These zones can be reached via paths with
pawns and a dice system. A unique feature is that you can largely put together the board yourself and thus
manipulate it. You can also choose not to work together and discover how far you get on your own.
YOUNITY will be developed in differing ways. Starting with a board game for which a game table has been
designed which can be placed in various locations as a ‘play object’ during events or in the atrium of a town
hall. A simple digital version which can be downloaded as an online game is also being worked on.
