Indian cold chain sector has bright future ahead of itself with the much revered governmental support and changing consumer dynamics. Indian market is evolving with changing lifestyles, rising urbanization and growing disposable incomes which will be the key benefactors of growth in cold chain user industries like Food service industry, processed food industry and organized retail industry. Additionally mounting government endeavors towards reducing food wastage and penetrating healthcare in deep corners of the country will help in strengthening cold chain infrastructure in India. The cold chain sector in India is still in the nascent stage with enormous growth potential on the back of climatic diversification and geographically vast size of the country. Indian cold chain sector was estimated to be at INR 245 billion in 2013 and we anticipate it to cross INR 600 billion mark in the next 4 years.

The Indian chemical industry is overall the 3rd largest in Asia after China and Japan in terms of volume contribution to the global market. The chemical industry in India has started to evolve rapidly since the last five years and has grown to an estimated USD 147 billion in 2015. Despite its large size and significant GDP contribution, the industry accounted for only around 3% of the global chemicals industry (~USD 4.3 Trillion). India ranks 14th in the world exports of chemicals (excluding pharmaceutical products) and ranks 8th in the world imports of chemicals (excluding pharmaceutical products) with a valuation of $29.76 billion in 2014.
Vibrant Gujarat - Ports, Ship building and related industries - Sector ProfileVibrant Gujarat
• Gujarat boasts of 60% share of the Indian shipbuilding order book.
• Gujarat is targeting a capacity of 3 million DWT – thus maintaining its existing share of expected national market in shipbuilding/repair market.
• Total capacity of 10 operational projects constitutes 1.11 million DWT
This PPT cover overview of Indian Industrial Infrastructure along with Power sector, coal sector, Aviation Sector, Road Transport, Indian Ports and few success stories.
The western coast of India has been the key hub for chemicals and petrochemicals industry with Gujarat and Maharashtra alone accounting for 62% of major chemical and petrochemicals production across India. Since production clusters are concentrated in one particular region, better infrastructure and logistics are required to supply chemical products across the country. The lengthening of supply lines makes the distribution of chemicals more transport intensive. The involvement of a large number of stakeholders (shipping lines, transport agencies, environmental agencies, etc.) in the transportation of chemical products increases the logistics and supply chain complexity of the chemicals industry.
Transforming the nation’s logistics infrastructure-MykenseyApoorva Sharma
This report reveals that the Indian logistics infrastructure is really poor as compared to other countries like US and China.
Poor logistics infrastructure costs the economy an extra USD 45 billion each year.
This report is about India’s current Logistics infrastructure which is inadequate to meet growth aspirations and it also required Logistics infrastructure to grow through Strategies i.e. shift to a balanced modal network and then implementing them, For this national Logistics policy was emerged.
A large part of India’s future logistics network is still to be built
India uses roadways for the movements of goods more than railways and waterways which is not good for the environment and it is expensive also.
India spends 13 per cent of GDP on logistics which is more than what the US (9.5 per cent) and Germany (8 per cent) spend.
India needs to increase its use of rail, and realise the potential of its waterways.
The Objective was to increase India’s rail share to 46 per cent.
If India fails to achieve this, waste caused by poor logistics infrastructure will increase from the current USD 45 billion equivalent to 4.3 per cent of today’s GDP, to USD 140 billion or more than 5 per cent of the GDP in 2020.
If tackled in an integrated and coordinated manner, this can be reduced by half and India’s transport fuel requirement reduced by 15 to 20 per cent.
India is a growing country still under development. Its characteristics and assets will help it become a major player in the world’s financial, economic and commercial game. But this development relies heavily on the decisions the country will make between now and 2020. Its strong economic growth does not nonetheless absolve it from social and environmental responsibilities.
REIT simply implies trading dematerialized real estate. REIT exists in most countries of the world, its a great way of optimizing real estate investment and maximize wealth. REIT was legalized in India in 2013. SEBI is its regulator and the coming times will tell the tale of REIT in India.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.

Existing infrastructure needs to be
upgraded to increase throughput.
8. Air Cargo is Vital in Linking International
Markets.
The total volume of air cargo traffic
currently constitutes about 1 percent of total
trade and accounts percent of Total Trade
Value.
The Open Sky policy adopted in the early
1990s, allowed carriers to operate both
scheduled and non-scheduled cargo services
between all airports in India.
Between 2006 and 2012, air cargo traffic
handled at Indian airports increased at a
CAGR of 11.5 %
Over the next decade, total air cargo traffic
is expected to grow at a CAGR of 10.3%
9.
10. India’s Ports facilitate 90% by volume and 70% by
value of India’s external trade via maritime traffic.
India’s coastline spans across 7,500 Km with 13 major
ports and about 176 non-major ports.

traffic was estimated at 79 MMT in 2011–12.
India is home to 14,500 km of navigable inland
waterways, of which 5,200 km of major rivers and 485
km of canals are conducive to the movement of
