MEWPs have built-in safety features to improve work-at-height safety
• Emergency Descent / Duplicate Ground Controls
Enables personnel on the ground to lower the machine should the
operator get into difficulties
• Pothole Protection System
Helps prevent the machine from toppling should the operator drive
over a pothole while the machine is elevated
• Stabilisers / Outriggers
Provide additional stability when working at height

• Alarms and Cut-Out
If the MEWP is positioned on an angle which is greater than the
machine is rated for, an alarm will sound and machine operations will
cease / be limited until the machine is returned to a safe position
• Lanyard Points for Harnesses
Allows operator to attach their harness to the platform
• Warning Alarm / Flashing Beacon
MEWPs are fitted with warning alarm and a flashing beacon which the
operator can use to alert others around them
