Introduction
Gender and Development entails equality of women and
men that would be given equal opportunities. Likely, this has
endeavored in the planning and continuing capacity building,
which addresses discrimination and inequality.
In the aspects of the economic, cultural, social and political,
the involvement of women and men in the communities which
encourage in multi-sectoral and multi-lateral policy frameworks,
infrastructures, and other developmental aspects.
This, in some females and males engaging variety of job
opportunities gears towards labor and employment. In those job
opportunities, females and males would be given equal
incentives, social benefits, salary and wages. Salaried person
paid per day and paid per month.
Equal opportunities in both males and females in the labor
force, males and females play a vital role in the labor and
employment.
The females and males graduated annually from different
institutions in the government, public and private institutions at
global wide, nationwide, regionwide, local wide.
Females and males employed prior graduated by
government sector, public and private sectors such as National
Government Agencies or NGAs, Government Owned
Corporations or GOCCs, States, Universities and Colleges or
SUCs, Non-Government Organizations or NGOs, Private
Companies and Local Government Units or LGUs.

Concepts and Definitions
Gender - defined either of the two sexes, male and
female, especially when considered with
reference to social and cultural differences rather
than biological ones, particular qualities
or ways of behaving which associates with being
male gender or female gender.
The term gender, also used broadly to denote a
range of identities that do not correspond to
established ideas of male or female.
Gender Role - defined as a culturally and socially
determined set of expected behaviors,
attitudes, and characteristics based on
concepts of masculinity and femininity.
Gender Identity - defined as an individual’s self-
conception as a man or woman or as a boy
or girl or as some combination of man/boy
or woman/girl or as
someone fluctuating between man/boy

Gender Dimension - defined as characteristics known,
integrating sex and gender analysis.
Gender Equality - defined as Gender equality, also known
as sexual equality or equality of the sexes,
is the state of equal ease of access to
resources and opportunities regardless of
gender, including economic participation
and decision-making; and the state of
valuing different behaviors, aspirations and
needs equally, regardless of gender.
Gender Expressions - defined as persons behavior,
manners, and appearances in which
socially associated with gender,
femininity or masculinity. The way in which
persons express gender identity, typically
through appearances, clothing/s and
expressions.
Gender expression can also be defined as
the external manifestation of one's gender

Gender Equity - defined as a fair and just distribution
of the benefits and responsibilities
among people of all genders, and protection
from discrimination based on gender
identity, ensures opportunities not limited
on the basis of gender, it corrects gender
biases so that economic outcomes
improve for everyone, considered
equivalent in terms of rights, benefits,
obligations, and opportunities.
The fair and just opportunities women and
men according to their respective
needs. This may include equal treatment, or
it may include treatment that is different but
considered equivalent in terms of rights,
benefits, obligations, and opportunities.
Gender equity ensures opportunities are not
limited in the gender identity.
Gender Diversity - defined as an umbrella term that is used
to describe gender identities that
demonstrate a diversity of expression
beyond the binary framework, an equitable
or fair and just humane conditions. It is the

most commonly refers to an equitable ratio
of men and women, but also includes
people of non-binary gender.
Gender Norms - accepted ideas of how women and men
should be, and how they should act, within
a community; to define what is understood
as being feminine or masculine,
social norms defining acceptable and
appropriate actions for women and men.
Gender Variance - defined as a behavior or gender
expression by an individual that does not match masculine
or feminine gender norms.
Gender Dynamism - defined as an integral component of
the feminism and masculinism.
Gender Sensitivity - defined as a process by which people
are made aware of how gender plays
a role in life through their treatment of
others.
Gender Analysis - Gender analysis is a type of socio-
economic analysis that uncovers how
gender relations inflect development,

Gender Mainstreaming - defined as the public policy
concept of assessing the implications for
people of different genders of a planned
policy action, including legislations and
programs.
Gender Schema - defined as a boy or girl label as such they
prefer gender specific and sex identification.
Gender Empowerment – defined as the capacity of both
female and male to exercise their rights
such as women’s rights, human rights and
civil rights.
Gender Inclusion - defined as a concept that transcends
mere equality. It is the notion that works
opportunities that male or female do not
define roles and expectations.
Gender Careerism – defined as choices of careers in
different job-descriptions and multi-
functions.
Gender Path – defined as pathing the career and the
choices of careers towards the multi-
functions.
Gender Goal – defined as to achieve the gender equality.

Description
The gender development, factors, cognitive factors,
learning factors, knowledge, beliefs and expectations about
what it means to be a boy or a girl.
Contexts
Gender being part of social, cultural, economic, language
and political contexts.
Social Context - refers to the immediate physical and social
aspects to some extent, determines thought, feeling, and
actions.
Linguistic Context - refers to the language utilize in words
that surround any part to determine gender fair language.
Textual Context - refer to a higher level of linguistic
structure e.g. the context of a sentence and gender fair
language.
Cultural Context - refers to the values, beliefs, behaviors,
and general characteristics. Oftentimes, culture in terms of
nationality or geographical location varies, e.g. age, sex, religion,
education, gender, ethnicity, and others.
Economic Context - refers to the economy in the global,
national, regional and local economy, inter and intra investors
