This document explores future interactions with laptops, including existing modalities like mouse/keyboard, voice recognition, and gestures. It discusses using head tracking and retinal displays. The future of holographic projection is examined, which would involve projecting 3D objects into real space for interaction rather than on a screen. Existing techniques for this like adaptive methods are described. The document also references analyzing human behavior and developing a "Behavior Wizard" to understand how behaviors change over time. A head tracking application was created, and the conclusion is that people prefer improving existing modalities rather than new ones, and to gradually phase things out while exploring combination approaches.
