1. The National Lung Cancer Partnership is the only lung cancer advocacy organization founded
by physicians and researchers working together with survivors and advocates to increase lung
cancer awareness and research funding. Our mission is to decrease deaths due to lung cancer and
help patients live longer and better through research, awareness and advocacy.
The National Lung Cancer Partnership started the Free to Breathe program in 2006 as a 5K
run/walk event series that has now expanded to include marathon teams, yogathons, and other
athletic activities. Each Free to Breathe event brings together people from the community – those
who have been touched by lung cancer, and those who want to participate in a sporting event for
a good cause – in an effort to raise awareness of lung cancer and increase funding for National
Lung Cancer Partnership’s research, education, and awareness programs.
This will be Team TOAH’s fourth year participating in this event, with hopes of raising $6,000
for this organization. Last year, we hit our goal and raised over $3,100! We had multiple staff
members place in the race, and we hope to have many more this year! We are excited to be a
part of such a charitable event, and we could not have done it without the support of each and
every one of you. Many of us here at TOAH have experienced the heartache and struggle of
watching a loved one battle and lose to lung cancer. We are participating in this fundraiser to unite
and show support for those we have lost and all of those still putting up a fight.
If you would like to make a donation, you can do so by adding the amount of your choice
to your totalpayment at checkout. The funds collected will go directly to the National Lung Cancer
Partnership through the Free to Breathe fundraiser. Another way to become involved and donate
is by going to the Free to Breathe website at www.freetobreathe.org. There is a link located on
the top of the page that says ‘Get Involved’. As you scroll over the link, a tab will drop down.
Click on the link that says ‘Donate to a Participant, Team, or Event’. From there, choose the option
that says ‘Search for a team’; Type in ‘Tuscawilla Oaks Animal Hospital’. All of Team TOAH’s
information should appear right below. Click on any of the blue links and it will take you directly
