2. 2. Our Mission

Supreme Clientele Travel & Donate Life Florida are dedicated to empowering the public to save and enhance lives through organ and tissue donation as well as other lifesaving donations, such as blood and marrow.

Donate Life Florida supports projects and campaigns that have the potential to achieve greater success when implemented on a collaborative level, rather than by the individual member programs. Donate Life Florida also supports the programs and activities of the national Donate Life America. As an education-based entity, Donate Life Florida does not take a position on clinical or political matters.

 3. 3. Educate and Save Lives

Supreme Clientele Travel and Donate Life Florida work toward a common goal, saving lives, by educating Floridians about organ and tissue donation. By becoming an active member in Donate Life Florida you are helping to educate people about organ and tissue donation across the nation.

 4. 4. You Have The Power To Save Lives

More than 100,000 people await the gift of life in the United States today, and hundreds of thousands more benefit annually from tissue, cornea, blood and bone marrow donation. In Florida, more than 3,700 await a life-saving organ transplant. Each day, eighteen people die without the organ transplant that they need. You have the power to save lives. You have the power to DONATE LIFE.

Sign up with Supreme Clientele Travel or on the Florida Organ & Tissue Donor Registry and indicate your wish to save lives. Say yes to organ & tissue donation when you renew your driver license or identification card. Tell your family that decision. By saying yes to donation, you will be saying yes to the thousands of Floridians, and those throughout the United States, who hope for a second chance at life through an organ or tissue transplant.

 5. 5. Get The Facts

Thousands of people benefit each year from the gifts generously given by organ & tissue donors. In fact, a single donor could potentially save or change the lives of nearly 60 people. Deciding to be a donor, and making your wishes known, is easy – join the Florida Organ and Tissue Donor Registry when renewing your driver license or identification card, or simply download a registry form from our web site, fill it out and share your decision with your family. You can make a difference. DONATE LIFE.

 6. 6. Blood and Bone Marrow Donation

In an emergency room, donated blood can mean the difference between life and death.

Blood is needed every two seconds in the United States today. Accident victims, cancer patients, hemophiliacs and surgery patients all need blood. In fact – one in every five people entering a hospital needs blood, which cannot be manufactured. Blood must be donated.

Marrow or blood cells could save the lives of more than 35,000 Americans annually. Matches can be made among family members, but as many as 70% of those in need do not have matches within their family. Their only hope is the generous donation of a stranger.

 7. 7. Community Perspectives On Donation

12% of the U.S. population is African American

35% of patients awaiting kidney transplants are African American

0 lives will be saved if you do nothing.

 8. 8. More Facts

More than 100,000 people currently await the Gift of Life in the United States today, and of those, almost 50% are minorities. Minorities suffer higher rates of diabetes than Caucasians – often resulting in organ failure and the need for a kidney transplant. In fact, Native-Americans have the highest rates of diabetes, followed by African-American and Hispanics. (Source: American Diabetes Association).

 9. 9. More Facts

Matching organs between members of the same ethnic and racial group often enhances successful transplantation, and an increased number of organ donors will always result in more patients receiving a second chance at life. Unfortunately, many minorities don’t ever think about donation, and as a result, they never share their wishes with family members. This leaves family members at a loss when facing the decision to allow donation after the loss of a loved one. Make a decision about organ donation, and share your decision with your family. Sharing your decision is the most important step towards increasing organ donation and saving lives.

 10. 10. More Important Facts

One in five Americans has hypertension (high blood pressure).

It is most prevalent in the African-American community; 1 of every 3 African-Americans has high blood pressure.

Diabetes and hypertension can lead to kidney failure resulting in dialysis and/or the need for a transplant.

Limiting foods that are high in salt, cholesterol and saturated fats help to lower the risk of hypertension.

Regular visits to the doctor and frequent monitoring of blood pressure can identify problems early, and can help to avoid long term complications, like kidney failure due to hypertension or diabetes.

An increase in organ donation among minorities can lead to earlier and more successful transplants for patients, especially African-Americans.
