Frederick C. Frieseke was an American Impressionist painter who was born in 1874 in Michigan. He studied art in Chicago and New York before traveling to Paris in 1897 where he would spend much of his career painting and exhibiting his work. Some of Frieseke's most famous paintings include The Yellow Tulip, Woman Before a Mirror, and Lady in a Garden. He was elected to the National Academy of Design and received numerous awards throughout his career before passing away in Normandy, France in 1939.
