This document examines the impact of 'green food' certification on kiwifruit growers in Xixia County, China, emphasizing its potential for higher prices and incomes due to consumer demand for sustainable agriculture. The study, involving a survey of 398 growers, indicates that while certified growers face higher production costs due to reduced chemical inputs and increased labor, they may achieve better farm-gate prices reflecting higher quality. The findings underscore the need to protect the interests of these certified growers for sustainable agricultural development.
