God tests the faith of those he intends to use. The document discusses how God tested the faith of biblical figures like Noah, Abraham, and Moses through impossible tasks, major changes, delayed promises, unsolvable problems, senseless tragedies, and prolonged pain. It discusses what people in Jesus' time said about him, including that he taught with authority and some believed him to be the Messiah. It also examines what Jesus himself claimed, including that he could forgive sins, was the Son of God and eternal. The document argues that either Jesus' claims were true, making him the Son of God, or he was a liar based on the eyewitness testimony and fulfilled prophecies about the Messiah.
The Gospel of Mark portrays Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God who fulfills scripture with his authoritative teachings, but is opposed and misunderstood. Jesus acknowledges to his disciples that he is the Christ but must suffer and die as the Son of God. At his death, even Jesus questions why God has forsaken him, but he is ultimately vindicated through his resurrection.

2. Enjoy life now, as death comes to both humans and animals alike. Our lives are fleeting and we do not know what comes after. We should be happy in our current activities.
3. When faced with unfairness, people should account to God for their actions and enjoy their lives, rather than focus on injustice and unfairness which we often cannot control or fully understand. The sermon encourages focusing on the present life we have
Before Christ came into our lives, we were children of darkness. But even as God is light, and Christ is the light of the world, so also are we are children of light. As such, we ought to walk in the light and behave in a manner consistent with our calling. Wake up oh Christian and let your light shine.

In the new life we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. In the new life we are renewed by the Holy Spirit. In the new life we are dead to sin but alive to God. In the new life we are washed from our sins. in the new life we put to death the old man and put on the new man. In the new life we died and our life is hidden with Christ in God. In the new life we were brought back from death in sin.

This document discusses a church in Ephesus that had lost its first love for God. While the church was active, hardworking, patient, and doctrinally sound, rejecting false teachers, it had left behind its initial love and enthusiasm for Christianity. This loss of passion was the church's main problem. If not addressed by repenting and returning to its former fervor, the church risked losing its identity and purpose. However, the issues were seen as curable if the members remembered their past devotion and changed their attitudes through repentance.

The Bible - The Life Instruction ManualDon McClain
"The Bible - The Life Instruction Manual" - The Bible contains necessary information & instructions that we MUST know if we are to get out of this world alive. Some ridicule the idea of the Bible being our instruction manual, but what does the Bible say?
Christians are given a "new commandment" that is really an "old commandment" -- a commandment to "love one another". This study of 1 John 2:7-11 explains how an "old commandment" is really quite "new".

Watchmen will guard Jerusalem and the people are called to not rest until God establishes the city as the praise of the earth. God promises the people will harvest and enjoy the fruits of their land without foreigners taking it. The people are called to prepare for God's salvation and his reward that is coming with

What challenge did the nation of Israel encounter in Joshua 1:1? If you were Joshua how would you have felt? Why do you think God told him, “be strong and of good courage”? How does our definition of success influence or affect our lives? How would you define success? How does the world view success? How did the Lord use the word “success” in Joshua 1:6-9? Name 3 examples of those who are successful in the Bible and 3 who were not. What made the difference in their lives? Name the 3 commands God gave to Joshua in verses 6-9. Which command did he repeat? How many times? Why? Why does it take courage to obey the word of God? These and other questions are addressed in this study in Joshua 1.

2. The parable describes four types of soil - the path, rocky ground, among thorns, and good soil. Only the good soil, representing those who accept God's word with an open heart, bears fruit.
3. Jesus explained that the cares of this world and deceitfulness of riches can choke God's word in believers' hearts, making them unfruitful, like the thorny soil. To bear fruit, believers must let God's Spirit guide them

The parable of the sower describes how the seed, which represents the word of God, is scattered and received differently depending on the condition of the soil, or heart. Some seed falls on the path and is snatched away by birds, some on rocky ground and does not take root, and some among thorns which choke it out. But the seed that falls on good soil produces a crop of up to one hundred times what was sown. Jesus explained that the different types of soil represent those who do not understand or accept the word, those who receive it temporarily but fall away due to hardship or temptation, and those who receive it, understand it, and go on to bear much fruit.
The document provides an overview of the book of Revelation. It begins by outlining the purpose of Revelation as told to John by Jesus: to write down what he has seen, what is currently happening, and what will happen in the future. The key is then given that Revelation contains visions from God, not in chronological order, with sevens appearing frequently and a pause between the sixth and seventh seals/trumpets. The overview then examines each vision: the things John has seen in chapter 1, the letters to the seven churches as the current state in chapters 2-3, God and Jesus' glory in chapters 4-5, and the things to come after in chapters 6-22 involving seals, trumpets, Satan
The document discusses how Joshua enlarged his tent like God commanded. It says that (1) Joshua was available when God spoke to him after Moses' death and told him to lead the people into the promised land. (2) Joshua dared to be different from others and fully follow God alone. (3) Joshua completely obeyed God, even when facing challenges like crossing the Jordan River and defeating their enemies. (4) Joshua never gave up and continued following God's commands to fully conquer the land.

(2) Joshua dared to be different from others and fully follow God alone. (3) Joshua completely obeyed God, even when facing challenges like crossing the Jordan River and defeating their enemies. (4) Joshua never gave up and persisted in his mission until it was accomplished. God promises to be with Joshua as he leads the people, just as he was with Moses.
The document discusses overcoming fear through having a close relationship with God. It encourages enlarging one's vision, strengthening resolve, and not being afraid as God will be with believers. It suggests communicating with God daily through prayer, worship, and reading the Bible. Choosing God over the world and having faith, not fear, are keys to pleasing God and receiving his promises. Hidden sins can damage relationships with God and create fear, so confession and repentance are important.
This document discusses Jesus Christ's mission as prophesied by Isaiah and described by John the Baptist. It explores what can be learned about Christ from passages in the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible. Christ is described as being with God from the beginning, being God himself, preaching the gospel in the pre-mortal world, creating all things, and being the Only Begotten Son who was made flesh. Believing in Christ allows one to have eternal life and feel His light and life, even without visiting the Holy Land where He walked.
The document discusses an upcoming men's fellowship meeting and church dinner, as well as passages from the Bible book of Joshua. It encourages believers to possess the spiritual promises God has given them, such as abundant life, by walking with God and resisting Satan's tricks through God's power. Believers are promised victory over enemies if they remain strong, courageous, and obedient to God's word.
This document discusses the secret to effective prayer according to Jesus. It states that Jesus taught that true prayer requires going into a private place alone to commune with God, recognizing His presence there. When people pray, they are entering God's presence, so they must do so with reverence and avoid empty repetitions. The secret is realizing that God is everywhere at all times, not confined to any place. Effective prayer involves consciously acknowledging God's omnipresent nature.
The document discusses the importance of hearing in relation to preaching. It emphasizes that effective preaching requires responsive hearing from the audience. The parable of the sower shows that the real problem is often with the hearer - their mind may be closed, they fail to count the cost of following the message, or they have excessive interest in other things rather than listening. Hearers are warned to avoid being indifferent, fault-finding, or forgetful listeners seeking only new things. Instead, one should listen to understand, with the goal of applying the message to their life.

The document discusses the parable of the barren fig tree from Luke 13:6-9. It provides context that the fig tree is a symbol of Israel's national privileges. The parable tells of a man with a fig tree in his vineyard that produced no fruit for 3 years. The owner wants to cut it down but the gardener pleads for one more year to dig and fertilize it, giving it one last chance to bear fruit before being cut down.

This document contains a collection of Bible passages discussing righteousness and reigning in life through Jesus Christ. The key points are:
1) Believers are called to receive God's abundance of grace and gift of righteousness in order to reign over challenges. Grace frees us from sin and death's power. Righteousness is a gift of freedom from guilt through faith.
2) Receiving righteousness empowers believers to live boldly through inner peace, sharing the gospel, overcoming sin, and reflecting God's righteousness.
3) A 2024 declaration affirms the reader's righteousness through Jesus' blood, protecting them from evil and blessing their household, prayers, and future with no weapons prevailing against them
The document discusses the blessing that Christians have through being "in Christ." It makes three key points:
1) Our blessing comes through what Christ has done for us, not from our own works. We are blessed because of Christ's sacrifice, not to receive more blessings through giving.
2) As those "in Christ," we have complete access to God and an eternal blessing. Nothing can separate us from God's love.
3) Christians should speak blessings over themselves by declaring the ways they are blessed through their relationship with Christ, such as being blessed with wisdom, strength, and God's favor in their daily lives.
This document discusses setting a vision and fulfilling a mission. It tells the story of Gideon from the Bible who initially felt powerless and unqualified but was chosen by God to rescue Israel from the Midianites. The document encourages the reader to change their mindset from one of powerlessness, unqualification, and a distant God, to one where they embrace that God has given them power and qualification through His spirit within them. It emphasizes fulfilling the mission God has called one to through trusting in His strength and presence.
The document discusses a sermon given last Sunday about choosing one thing needed in 2017. It suggests choosing to sit at the Lord's feet like Mary did, which will give a heart for God, an exciting relationship with God, and make one's home a place of healing and happiness. Sitting at the Lord's feet also leads to attitudes of thankfulness, no worry, and grace. It results in blessings, abundance, and passing blessings on to future generations.
The document discusses baptism from several Bible passages. It describes how baptism represents being washed clean from sins through faith in Jesus Christ and his resurrection, as those who were baptized in the Bible were adding their faith in Christ. It also discusses how baptism represents dying and rising with Christ to walk in newness of life.
This document discusses the righteousness that God requires and how we can receive it. It notes that God is perfectly holy and righteous, while humans are sinful. The only righteousness acceptable to God is perfect righteousness. However, we are unable to produce this ourselves. The Bible teaches that through faith in Jesus Christ, God clothes us in His righteousness when He puts us "in Christ." Because of this, God sees believers as righteous through Christ, who lived a perfect life. Christ's righteousness is credited to believers, allowing them to have peace with God.
The document discusses a proposed logo for Amazing Grace Church in 2017. It asks two questions to determine if the reader is religious and identifies as Christian.

This document discusses places of refuge during troubled times. It notes that people no longer fear God and cites scripture passages about humanity's sinfulness. It then discusses how God ordained cities of refuge for those who accidentally killed others to flee to under Mosaic Law. Several Bible passages are cited that portray God and the church as places of refuge. The document advocates for Amazing Grace Church to emulate the qualities of a refuge - being a sanctuary, lifting others up, welcoming fellowship, and sharing the gospel mission with joy. It concludes by giving glory to God.
The document discusses the Holy Spirit and how to receive Him. It describes the Holy Spirit as God who loves, comforts and empowers believers. It lists spiritual gifts the Holy Spirit gives, including wisdom, joy and power over sin and death. To receive the Holy Spirit, one must believe, ask God and receive by faith through prayer, as Jesus promised the Father would give the Holy Spirit to those who ask.
The document discusses several Bible passages related to the work of the Holy Spirit. It describes how the Holy Spirit came upon believers in Acts, empowering them to speak in other tongues. It also discusses how grieving the Holy Spirit can occur through corrupt speech or hardness of heart rather than through ministering to sinners. The document emphasizes allowing the word of Christ to dwell richly and ministering to one another with grace.
Many blame God for their sufferings, sicknesses, miseries and other mishaps in their lives. He is not the One to be blamed. He is your Heavenly Father.
(Matthew 7:11) If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE WILL YOUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN GIVE GOOD THINGS to those who ask him!
God is good all the time!

Jesus teaches a crowd from Simon Peter's boat. When he finishes, Jesus tells Peter to launch into deeper water and let down his nets. Peter protests that they caught nothing all night but obeys Jesus. They catch so many fish their nets begin to break. Others come to help and fill both boats. Peter is astonished and repents, realizing Jesus' divine power. Jesus calls Peter and his partners to follow him and become "fishers of men". They leave everything to do so.
The document summarizes key passages from Hebrews chapters 5-6. It discusses how the writer observes that the readers have become dull in hearing, though they should be teachers by now. The writer says they need milk (basic teachings) rather than solid food, and are unskilled in righteousness. The document asks what righteousness teachings the writer refers to, noting passages about Christ making us righteous. It also lists the elementary teachings mentioned in Hebrews 6:1-3, such as repentance, faith, baptism, resurrection and judgment. Finally, it provides reflections on how to know God's plans for 2014, including starting each day with God, leaving worries to him, experiencing his daily presence, finding one's place
This document contains scripture passages from Romans 5:17-18 and commentary on reigning in life through Jesus Christ. The key points are:

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

1. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your

that you may be careful to do according to all that is
written in it. For then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
2. Ecclesiastes 9:11 GNB
I realized another thing, that in this world fast
runners do not always win the races, and the
brave do not always win the battles. The wise do
not always earn a living, intelligent people do not
always get rich, and capable people do not
always rise to high positions. Bad luck happens
to everyone.
3. Joshua 1:1-5
1 After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to
Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide:
2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get
ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to
them—to the Israelites.
3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised
Moses.
4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the
great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the
Mediterranean Sea in the west.
5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor
forsake you.
4. Joshua 1:6-8
6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to
inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my
servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left,
that you may be successful wherever you go.
8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and
night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then
you will be prosperous and successful.
Deuteronomy 34:9 Joshua (son of Nun) was full of the spirit of
wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him; so the people of
Israel obeyed him and followed the commandments the Lord had
given to Moses.
