Freddy Blanche has spent his career as a registered nurse caring for patients and their families. As observed by a political consultant through focus groups, the best way to understand someone is by watching them at home with their family, and Freddy is known to generously nurture his friends and family. His son Alexander has sacrificed to allow his father to pursue his career helping others, and will be shaped by Freddy's example of empathy, caring, and decency passed down through generations. The letter writer asks that Freddy, who has given aid to others throughout his career, be given full consideration for assistance.

1. To whom it may concern:
As a national political consultant I’ve watched hundreds of focus groups to get an
understanding of people – what they think and how they are motivated. This study
of humanity is helpful in political campaigns but also day-to-day exchanges with
friends and strangers.
One of my favorite focus group questions is, “If you were a fly on the wall and could
watch someone to best understand them where would it be.” It’s surprising how
often the answer is, “at his/her home with their family.”
I’ve never worked with Freddy Blanche but I’ve been that fly on the wall at his home
many times. Watching him nurture and care for family and the countless friends
who always feel at home in his home. He’s repeatedly proven to be an enormously
generous, kind, and gentle man.
A couple of decades ago I met Freddy after he had married a high school friend and
learned he was a registered nurse. That was somewhat novel for me but once I got
to know Freddy it made prefect sense.
Not only has Freddy made sacrifices but also so has his family. His wonderful son
Alexander is blessed to have a Dad like Freddy and will one day look back and
realize things were a bit different when Dad was in school. A bit tougher. A bit
leaner.
Alexander will be shaped in positive ways by these years as well as the years his
father stood bedside in hospitals holding the hand of the sick and dying. Empathy,
decency, caring, are values that pass through generations.
In closing I ask, if we can’t give aid and assistance to Freddy Blanche who has spent
most of his adult life giving aid and assistance to others then why offer the
assistance at all.
I respectfully ask that you give every consideration possible to my friend Freddy.
