Introduction
To join our International Talent Programme is to enter a dynamic
and stimulating banking and business environment. It also opens up
unlimited scope for personal growth. So, how does it all happen?
First, you’re invited to your local ING Bank office along with other
selected participants. You’ll spend a couple of days gaining an
understanding of our organisation and strategy. Then we’ll identify
a first project or job that matches your talents and objectives.
Subsequently, you fly to our corporate headquarters in Amsterdam
for a busy and varied programme of training and introductions.
There, you’ll meet other international trainee colleagues from all
over the world – from Hong Kong to Romania, and from the UK
to Turkey. You and your new colleagues will undergo training in
areas such as personal development, and work together on an
international project. You also have the opportunity to network
with some of our senior management.
And the moment you return home, you’ll start on your first
project or job in your local market.
If you’re reading this brochure, you’re probably focused
on your next move. You’re proud of the degree you’ve
just earned, which shows that you’re talented and hard
working. You want the freedom to pursue your goals,
while respecting professional and ethical boundaries.
You reach out for what life has to offer, while taking
others into account. There’s no reason why all this
can’t come together in a rewarding and satisfying
professional life.
Does the following apply to you:
1. You have a recent Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (qualification varies
per country so check the local IITP site via www.ing.jobs/graduates)
and you’re fluent in English as well as in the language of the country
where you’re applying to work.
2. You live in a country where the IITP is running.
Check www.ing.jobs/graduates for participating countries.
3. You have a can-do mentality and an entrepreneurial spirit. You are
customer-oriented, optimistic, and you value teamwork combined
with personal responsibility.
4. There’s something distinctive about you. For instance, you might
have gained valuable experience during internship(s) and/or other
jobs. Perhaps you’ve been part of a student board, or set up your
own organisation or company at some point. You play a particularly
challenging sport, or you’ve mastered a musical instrument.
Whatever it is, you contribute a talent or a spirit that has the
potential to make a valuable difference.

You and the IITP
Your future Track
You choose a ‘Track’ – an intensive career
path that reflects one of our areas of activities:
General Management, Finance, Commercial
Banking, Risk, and IT. Each Track exposes
you to in-depth knowledge of the relevant
business area, teaches you project manage-
ment skills, and develops the leadership skills
necessary for complex commercial environ-
ments. Please note that the Tracks available
vary from country to country. Go to
www.ing.jobs/graduates to check which
Tracks are available in your country of interest.
The first year
All IITP Tracks are three-year programmes.
For the first 12 to 18 months you will rotate
between different projects or jobs. This allows
you to see different parts of the business and
add value right from the start. It might even
involve spending some time in a different
country. And you will soon grow into a role
that carries some responsibility – the start of
a journey that could take you anywhere.
It all depends on you
Everybody in the ITTP is assigned a mentor
– a senior ING executive who is there to
guide, challenge and inspire you as you work
towards your goals. And, because we truly
value your interests and objectives, you’ll have
the opportunity to work on your personal
development through courses and training.
Together with your manager or mentor you
decide what you need to help you grow
as a person.
Three dimensions of growth
The cornerstones of your training are Personal,
Professional and Organisational growth.
Personal growth entails the development
of presentation or negotiation skills, or
your ability to chair a meeting. Professional
development gives you in-depth expertise on
the Track of your choice. Organisational devel-
opment is about gaining a real understanding
of ING’s structures, our place in the banking
arena, and how you fit into it all.
IITP - the bottom line
1. Any time, any place, anywhere
Join a global player and who
knows where it could take you?
We are a global organisation, so if
you have international ambitions
you could find yourself working
abroad.
2.	Your personality is everything
In today’s world, ‘soft skills’ really
count. If you’ve got a great
personality, you’ll be encouraged
to express and develop it. We
want you to grow just as much
as you do.
3.	The human face of banking
	ING practices responsible banking.
This means that we think carefully
about the needs of our customers,
our employees and the wider
community.
The IITP is structured to help you find your own personal
path to becoming an outstanding banking professional
and a leader within our company who delivers what’s best
for you and ING Bank. As such, IITP combines on-the-job
learning with specific training and talent management.
