Fractales are geometric shapes that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole. Fractals may exhibit similar patterns at increasingly small scales, called self-similarity. They are typically non-repeating infinite patterns that involve repeating fine structure visible at increasingly small scales.
