FPD Group Limited is a family business with over 50 years
experience in the supply and installation of a wide range of

It is of the utmost importance that Pharmacists ensure their stock is stored correctly, especially in relation to those medicines
which require storage at low temperatures. All FPD Medical pharmacy products conform to the recommendations for storage of
vaccines in the ‘Green Book’, as issued by the Department of Health. In addition all FPD supplied Medical pharmacy
refrigerators maintain an internal temperature between +2°C and +8°C and the external digital temperature controller
continuously monitors the minimum and maximum temperatures and an audio-visual alarm is also included which activates if
the temperature goes outside the set parameters for more than 15 minutes, all of which follow the guide lines set by the Royal
Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) and recommendations from the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPA).
All models in the new FPD Medical pharmacy range of fridges have forced air cooling to ensure temperature stability and rapid
temperature recovery after the door has been opened and, with security being top of the agenda when storing vaccines and
drugs, all FPD pharmacy refrigerators are fully lockable and come with two keys preventing unauthorised access. Available
with either a solid door or a glass door, giving design and display flexibility, FPD Medical pharmacy refrigeration products offer
a neat, integral control panel on the outside of the fridge making it easy to check the internal temperature without disturbing
the contents. The refrigerators also feature automatic defrost to ensure more efficient cooling and removing the need to
manually defrost the products ensuring minimum intervention and ends the hassle of finding an alternative storage facility,
saving you time and money.
Pharmacy refrigeration – top tips for best practice
1.Record max/min temperatures at least twice daily to check consistent performance
2.Avoid prolonged door openings when restocking (15 seconds maximum) and ensure the door is closed swiftly and properly after use
3.Keep stock safe by locking the refrigerator door to ensure only authorised personnel can access the contents
4.Practice good stock rotation. Store longer expiry dates at the back and work from the front of the fridge inwards
5.Avoid ice build up – don’t over stock with product and ensure the door is properly closed after use
6.Keep a finger width between each stack of products to encourage air circulation throughout the chamber for an even temperature
7.Only unplug or switch off the appliance for maintenance
8.Only use fingertips on the controller – never sharp objects
9.Keep the user manual close to hand for reference
10.Do not use the pharmacy refrigerator for storing drink or food
