When you believe, you can do anything. This concept is heard everywhere, but it was solidified by the teachings of Jesus. He said that we could move mountains if we had faith.
This is a study of Jesus being unorthodox. He went against the accepted rules of the Pharisees and it aggravated them to the point of wanting Him crucified.. Jesus did not come to conform but to transform.

John was supposed to stay with Jesus. He had prepared his disciples to attend the Messiah. He should have sent them to Jesus. But unfortunately they never followed Jesus except two.
John was supposed to be the greatest after Jesus. But he betrayed Jesus and became the least of least in the Kingdom of Heaven.
John was very respected in Israel, if he had followed Jesus, then the Scribes and Pharisees would have also come to Jesus and accept Jesus.
Tragically, John’s disbelief in Jesus, led to the disbelief of the Scribes and Pharisees and ultimately became one of the main causes of our Lord Jesus’ crucifixion.

What prevents the non-believing world from truly knowing who Jesus is? (Jn. 1:10-12; 2 Cor. 2:14) Why didn’t Pilate know what Truth was when the One who is Truth was standing only a few feet from him? (John 18:33-38) Why didn’t the disciples understand who Christ was though they had spent three solid years with Him? Why didn’t the disciples on the Emmaus Road know who Jesus was though He had already risen from the dead and reports of His resurrection had been announced to His disciples? (Luke 24:13-35)
Foundation Stone #07: Laying On Hands to BlessRick Bruderick
Hands are a wonderful way in which we were created like God. They are so important because they can do so many things. Touching others in order to pass on the blessings of God is one of those things. We love it when others bless us. We should be eager to bless others.
The most important thing to believe in is what Jesus Christ did for you. Without the sacrifice Jesus made, we would have no opportunity to have a relationship with God both now and in the afterlife.
We discover the importance Jesus gave to doing healings, deliverances and miracles. He has commissioned us to do the same, and so we must!

Don't live out your relationship with God according to what others tell you. God wants to be closer to you than anyone else. And He will always provide everything you need. There are too many so-called church leaders who really don't care about you or God.

Almost 2,000 years ago the Paul, the Apostle, traveled to the city of Corinth in what is now Greece and founded a Christian church there. That city still exists. Paul loved and obeyed Jesus dearly.
That Jesus Christ died because He was crucified is a well-established historical fact. Anybody who looks close enough will find the truth. Why was His death necessary? Why follow an executed criminal?
What you say is very important to God. He is not casual about spoken words. Your words are your fruit, your produce, and you are known by the fruit you bear. Do your words give life? Or are they poisonous? You choose your own words.
Historical Context for the Bible: RevelationRick Bruderick
It is wise to consider the historical context in which are found the actual events of the particular Bible passages we are studying. The first book we present is the last book of the Bible, the Revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The authorities in our lives expect our silence and agreement. If we speak up, we will be punished, excluded, or worse. God expects us to fear Him above all others. Jesus taught the same.
Jesus demonstrated what it means to serve others and the early Church demonstrated what it means to serve each other. If we call ourselves Christians, then we become servants to others.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

4. Preview Foundation Stone #2: Mighty Power of Faith
1. Faith means to believe in something you can’t see.
2. Faith can produce miracles, signs and wonders.
3. Seeing miracles helps people to believe in God.
4. Many people did miraculous things in the Old Testament.
5. Jesus was the greatest miracle worker of all time.
6. Jesus couldn’t do miracles when the people didn’t believe.
7. After Jesus left, His Apostles performed miracles.
8. Even non-Apostles were able to do miracles by faith.
9. Those who believe in Jesus will do even greater miracles.
10. Any with enough faith today can still do miracles.
11. All miracles come from God the Father in Heaven.
12. Love is better than miracles.
6. Q1: What is Faith and where does it come
from?
A1: Faith means belief. To have
faith means to know
something that can't be seen
is true. Faith is like being
pregnant: either you have it
or you don’t.
R1: Hebrews 11:1 and Matthew 17:20
7. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of
things we hope for, the certainty of things we
cannot see. Matthew 17:20 He said to them,
"Because of your lack of faith. For truly, I say
to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard
seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move
from here to there,' and it will move, and
nothing will be impossible for you.”
9. Q2: What are Miracles and where do they
come from?
A2: Miracles, also called signs
and wonders and mighty
works, are impossible things
that happen. They come from
faith.
R2: John 14:11,12
10. John 14:11 Believe me, I am in the Father and
the Father is in me. Otherwise, believe me
because of the works themselves. "Truly, truly I
tell you, the one who believes in me will also
do the works that I am doing. He will do even
greater works than these because I am going
to the Father.
12. Q3: What is the Purpose of Miracles?
A3: Miracles help people to
believe in God and His Son,
Jesus Christ.
R3: John 4:47-53
13. John 4:47-53 When this man heard that Jesus had
come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and
asked him to come down and heal his son, for he
was at the point of death. So Jesus said to him,
"Unless you see signs and wonders you will not
believe." The official said to him, "Sir, come down
before my child dies." Jesus said to him, "Go; your
son will live." The man believed the word that
Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. As he was
going down, his servants met him and told him
that his son was recovering. So he asked them the
hour when he began to get better, and they said to
him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left
him." The father knew that was the hour when
Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." And he
himself believed, and all his household.
15. Q4: Who did miracles in the Old Testament?
A4: Many people. Noah built
an enormous ark. Abraham
fathered a nation. Joseph
explained dreams. Moses
brought the plagues. Elijah
called down fire. Elisha raised
the dead. Many miracles.
R4: 2 Kings 4:31-35
16. 2 Kings 4:31-35 Gehazi went on ahead and laid the
staff on the face of the child, but there was no
sound or sign of life. Therefore he returned to
meet him and told him, "The child has not
awakened." When Elisha came into the house, he
saw the child lying dead on his bed. So he went in
and shut the door behind the two of them and
prayed to the LORD. Then he went up and lay on
the child, putting his mouth on his mouth, his eyes
on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. And as he
stretched himself upon him, the flesh of the child
became warm. Then he got up again and walked
once back and forth in the house, and went up
and stretched himself upon him. The child
sneezed seven times, and the child opened his
eyes.
18. Q5: Who was the greatest miracle worker of all
time?
A5: Jesus. He turned water to
wine, healed the sick, lame,
blind and deaf, cast out demons,
fed thousands with a few scraps
of food, calmed the storm,
walked on water, brought the
dead back to life, and rose from
the dead.
R5: Mark 4:37-41 and Acts 2:22 and John 21:25
19. Mark 4:37-41 A violent windstorm came up, and
the waves began breaking into the boat, so
that the boat was rapidly becoming swamped.
But Jesus was in the back of the boat, asleep
on a cushion. So they woke him up and said to
him, "Teacher, don't you care that we're going
to die?" Then he got up, rebuked the wind, and
said to the sea, "Hush! Be still!" Then the wind
stopped blowing, and there was a great calm.
He said to them, "Why are you such cowards?
Don't you have any faith yet?" They were
overcome with fear and kept saying to one
another, "Who is this man? Even the wind and
the sea obey him!”
20. Acts 2:22 "Fellow Israelites, listen to these words!
Jesus from Nazareth was a man accredited to
you by God through miracles, wonders, and
signs that God performed through him among
you, as you yourselves know.
John 21:25 Of course, Jesus also did many other
things, and I suppose that if every one of them
were written down the world couldn't contain
the books that would be written.
22. Q6: Could anything stop Jesus from doing
miracles?
A6: Yes, unbelief. When
people didn't believe, they
didn't see miracles.
R6: Matthew 13:54-58 and Mark 6:5
23. Matthew 13:54-58 He went to his hometown
and began teaching the people in their
synagogue in such a way that they were
amazed and said, "Where did this man get
this wisdom and these miracles? This is the
builder's son, isn't it? His mother is named
Mary, isn't she? His brothers are James,
Joseph, Simon, and Judas, aren't they? And
his sisters are all with us, aren't they? So
where did this man get all these things?" And
they were offended by him. But Jesus told
them, "A prophet is without honor only in his
hometown and in his own home." He did not
perform many miracles there because of their
unbelief.
24. Mark 6:5,6 He couldn't perform a miracle there
except to lay his hands on a few sick people
and heal them. He was utterly amazed at
their unbelief. Then he went around to the
villages and continued teaching.
26. Q7: Who did miracles, signs and wonders
after Jesus went up to heaven?
A7: Peter, John, and Paul -
the 12 Apostles performed
miracles after Jesus
ascended to Heaven.
R7: Acts 3:1-8 and 2 Corinthians 12:12
27. Acts 3:1-8 Peter and John were going up to the temple for
the hour of prayer at three in the afternoon. Now a
man who had been crippled from birth was being
carried in. Every day people would lay him at what was
called the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from
those who were going into the temple. When he saw
that Peter and John were about to go into the temple,
he asked them to give him something. Peter, along with
John, looked him straight in the eye and said, "Look at
us!" So the man watched them closely, expecting to get
something from them. However, Peter said, "I don't
have any silver or gold, but I'll give you what I do have.
In the name of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, walk!" Then
Peter took hold of his right hand and began to help him
up. Immediately his feet and ankles became strong,
and he sprung to his feet, stood up, and began to walk.
Then he went with them into the temple, walking,
jumping, and praising God.
28. 2 Corinthians 12:12 The signs of a true apostle
were performed among you with utmost
patience, with signs and wonders and mighty
works.
30. Q8: Besides Jesus, did only the 12 Apostles do
signs and wonders?
A8: The Apostles weren't the
only ones who did miracles,
signs and wonders - the 72
that Jesus sent, Stephen, and
other disciples also did
miracles.
R8: Luke 10:1-21 and Acts 6:8 and Acts 14:3
31. Luke 10:1-21 After this, the Lord appointed seventy other
disciples and sent them ahead of him in pairs to every town
and place that he intended to go. "Whenever you go into a
town and the people welcome you, eat whatever they serve
you, heal the sick that are there, and tell them, 'The kingdom
of God is near you!' The seventy came back and joyously
reported, "Lord, even the demons are submitting to us in your
name!" He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from
heaven like lightning. Look! I have given you the authority to
trample snakes and scorpions and to destroy all the enemy's
power, and nothing will ever hurt you. However, stop rejoicing
because the spirits are submitting to you. Rather, rejoice
because your names are written in heaven." In that hour Jesus
was extremely joyful in the Holy Spirit and said, "I praise you,
Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden
these things from wise and intelligent people and have
revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this is what was
pleasing to you.
32. Act 6:8 And Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great
wonders and signs among the people.
Act 14:3 So they (Paul, Barnabas, and other disciples) remained
for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness
to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be
done by their hands. .
34. Q9: Who can do greater works than Jesus?
A9: Jesus said that those
who believe in Him will be
doing even greater
miracles than He did.
R9: John 14:11-14 and Mark 16:17-18
35. John 14:11-14 Believe me that I am in the
Father and the Father is in me, or else believe
on account of the works themselves. "Truly,
truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will
also do the works that I do; and greater works
than these will he do, because I am going to
the Father. Whatever you ask in my name,
this I will do, that the Father may be glorified
in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name,
I will do it.
36. Mark 16:17-18 And these signs will accompany
those who believe: in my name they will cast
out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
they will pick up serpents with their hands;
and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not
hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick,
and they will recover.”
38. Q10: Can anyone do miracles? Or do you
need some special ability?
A10: The ability to do
miracles first requires faith,
but then can be seen as a
gift from the Holy Spirit.
R10: I Corinthians 12:7-10,28-30
39. I Corinthians 12:7-10,28-30 To each is given the
manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to
one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom,
and to another the utterance of knowledge according
to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit,
to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another
the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to
another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to
another various kinds of tongues, to another the
interpretation of tongues. God has appointed in the
church first of all apostles, second prophets, third
teachers, then those who perform miracles, those who
have gifts of healing, those who help others,
administrators, and various kinds of tongues. Not all
are apostles, are they? Not all are prophets, are they?
Not all are teachers, are they? Not all perform miracles,
do they? Not all have the gift of healing, do they? Not
all speak in tongues, do they? Not all interpret, do
they?
41. Q11: Where does the power come from?
A11: God the Father in the
name of His Son, Jesus
Christ, does mighty works
to reveal His glory.
R11: Acts 4:29-31 and Colossians 3:17 and
Romans 4:20-25
42. Acts 4:29-31 Lord, pay attention to their threats
now, and allow your servants to speak your
word with all boldness as you stretch out your
hand to heal and to perform signs and
wonders through the name of your holy
servant Jesus." When they had prayed, the
place where they were meeting was shaken,
and all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit
and continued to speak the word of God with
boldness.
Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, in word or
deed, do everything in the name of the Lord
Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through
him.
43. Romans 4:20-25 nor did he (Abraham) doubt
God's promise out of a lack of faith. Instead, he
became strong in faith and gave glory to God,
being absolutely convinced that God would do
what he had promised. This is why "it was
credited to him as righteousness." Now the
words "it was credited to him" were written
not only for him but also for us. Our faith will
be regarded in the same way, if we believe in
the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the
dead. He was handed over to death because of
our sins and was raised to life because of our
justification.
45. Q12: As wonderful and amazing as miracles
are, what is better?
A12: Love is best. Miracles are
only signs to inspire others to
have faith in God. Most
people just use reason and
don't even need to see signs.
But, everyone needs to love
and to be loved.
R12: I Corinthian 13:3,13
46. I Corinthians 13:3,13
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but
do not have love, I am only a resounding gong
or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all
mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a
faith that can move mountains, but do not
have love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my
body to hardship that I may boast, but do not
have love, I gain nothing.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and
love. But the greatest of these is love.
