portal include a charging station feature
thanks to PlugShare.com. This will benefit
the Ford Fusion Energi and C-MAX Energi
owners since they will find a compatible
charging station for their hybrids.
PlugShare.com is the most popular app for
finding electric vehicle charging stations.
You can view real-time station availability as
well as adding a photo of the station, a
review or comments to help other hybrid users. “We’re now expanding availability of the
system to drivers of our new plug-in hybrids and offering some unique features specifically
tailored to these long-range vehicles,” said Bill Frykman, business and product development
manager.
Both the Ford C-MAX Energi and the Ford Fusion Energi have an EPA estimated 620 miles on
a single tank of gasoline and one charge, with 21 miles of pure electric driving range per charge.
With this app, hybrid car owners can control some aspects of their car remotely such as
managing the battery charging process or checking energy efficiency and locating charging
stations.
“This collaboration allows for Ford customers to access all the currently installed stations, as
well as gain immediate access to new charge stations as they are installed,” commented Mike
Tinskey, director, Vehicle Electrification and Infrastructure.
The MyFord Mobile application is available for all smartphones in the Apple iOS App Store
and Google Play Store for iPhones and Android phones accordingly.
