Editor's Notes
Good morning, everyone. My name is __________. First, I am going to introduce our group’s members. This is __________, __________, and __________. Today, we are going to talk about the difference of impressions by fonts.
First, we’ll talk about why we chose the topic of fonts. Second, we’ll talk about the methodology to know how the fonts affect our minds. And finally we’ll talk about the results we got by trying the method.
Our topic is the difference of impression by logos’ fonts, as our research project. We chose this topic because we are interested in how the fonts affect our minds. For example, some companies logos such as MUJI, Facebook, Google, and GUCCI use various fonts. So we want to know why the companies chose the font as their logotypes.
We did our research with the following methods. At first, we collected some logotypes of such famous companies and searched the characteristics of those logos. Secondly, we changed the logos’ fonts. Finally, we asked others how they are impressed with the differences by using a questionnaires site.
We asked some people these two questions. One is when you look two pictures (original logo and changing fonts logo), how the level of change do you feel? You can answer 5 levels. Another is when you look changing fonts logo, how do you feel?
First, we changed UNIQLO’s logo. Left side picture is the original logo. Right side picture is the logo which we changed font.
Look at the right graph. We got the answers from 35 people. 23 people feel great change by changing font.
And by changing font, many people feel “UNIQLO” is high price clothes maker. The other people feel unnatural and hard.
Second, we changed au’s logo. Left side picture is the original logo. Right side picture is the logo which we changed font.
Look at the right graph. We got the answers from 35 people. Most people feel great change by changing font. And they feel poor and unnatural when they look changing font’s logo.
Third, we changed ZARA’s logo. Left side picture is the original logo. Right side picture is the logo which we changed font.
Look at the right graph. We got the answers from 25 people. Most people feel great change by changing fonts. And 54.17% people feel soft when they look changing font’s logo. The other feel hard, poor, natural and so on.
Finally, we changed twitter’s logo. The picture above is the original logo. The pictures below is the logo which we changed font.
Look at the right graph. We got the answers from 26 people. About 75% people feel 3 or 4 change level. And many people feel expensive. The other people feel hard, unnatural and so on.
As a result, our impression is influenced by changing fonts. In other words, our impression is greatly affected by fonts. We guessed the companies wanted to give a good impression to us. So, the companies need to choose fonts and make logos carefully.
We decided to open this powerpoint presentation we used to the public. The way we open it is “slideshare”. It is the cite to have powerpoint file jointly.
In conclusion, today we talked about the logo fonts and the difference of impressions by fonts. We explained that some companies logos use various fonts. We wanted to know why the companies chose the font as their logotypes. So we collected some logotypes and changed the logos’ fonts. And we asked others. As a result, impression that we feel has changed greatly. In other words, our impression is greatly affected by fonts. So we guessed the companies wanted to give a good impression to us.
