Andrew Paglinawan is a freelance designer,
working in the fields of logo design, print
design, web design and branding. As well as
being skilled in all of the aforementioned
areas of design he is also a talented and
popular typographer.
Quicksand is a fab and well known typeface by
Paglinawan; he has many more but generally
Quicksand tends to be his most popular work.
The wide character width and broad curves
really accentuate the fresh style that
emanates from this clean sans serif font.
One of the most exciting elements about this
typeface is the huge variety of weights that
are available ranging from extra thin to
black and even a dashed version!

JAN GERNER
Jan Gerner was born in Dresden, Germany in
1982, he is a young and exciting upcoming
talent in the design and typography fields.
Having studied at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar
and had an internship at FSI Fontshop
International it’s fair to stay that Gerner
had a good base to begin his freelance career
in 2009 under the alias Yanone.
“Yanone Kaffeesatz was first published in 2004
and is my first ever finished typeface. Its
Bold is reminiscent of 1920s coffee house
typography, while the rather thin fonts
bridge the gap to present times. Lacking self
confidence and knowledge about the type scene
I decided to publish the family for free
under a Creative Commons License. A decision
that should turn out one of the best I ever
made.”

JOHAN AAKERLUND
Johan Aakerlund was born in Copenagen,
Denkmark in October, 1990. That’s right, he
is only 19! Aakerlund is a very talented
young designer that is just starting out in
the world of typography.
Comfortaa was Aakerlund’s first typeface, not
that you would ever know that by looking at
it! Keep on eye on this one, we’re sure he
has a lot more top notch fonts to come!
