ULTRASONICS WASHERS
•Ultrasonics are best suited for precision
cleaning applications.

•Ultrasonics is a sound, beyond the range
of human hearing, generated by a
mechanism. The application of ultrasonics
in liquid medium, such as water, is
instrumental when utilized in cleaning
applications. Ultrasonics produce the
effect known as cavitation. Cavitation is
the creation of a microscopic bubble by an
ultrasonic wave, the subsequent growing of
that bubble, and, finally, the implosion of
that bubble.
•The implosion of a bubble releases a
tremendous amount of energy,
approximately 5,000 pounds per square
inch (psi) of pressure and temperatures in
the area of 5,000ºF. With the addition of
chemical and thermal energy to an
ultrasonic tank, ultrasonics is the ultimate in
‘scrubbing bubbles’.
CUSTOM ENGINEERED WASHERS
• FMT's Engineering Group has extensive experience in conceptual and
detailed design of a variety of chemical processes and mechanical
    systems.

• Disciplines include fluid mechanics and dynamics, heat and mass transfer,
thermodynamics, machine elements, power transmission, structural
design, instrumentation and controls, electrical, and CAD.
CUSTOM ENGINEERED WASHERS
• In-house staff designs custom solutions for the most difficult parts cleaning
    problems.
• FMT works directly with the customer to identify the problem, then design and
manufacture an appropriate cleaning solution to achieve the desired outcome.
• Field engineering teams are responsible for the installation, startup, operation
    and maintenance of the product.
LABORATORY TESTING
TWO MAIN CATEGORIES OF LABORATORY TESTING

        # 1 - Testing the process

    • Experimenting with various chemistries to
        remove contaminants/oil from parts

    • Attempt to provide most benign process

    • Attempt to provide lowest cost

    • Experimenting with equipment to verify
        required spray pressures, liquid
        temperatures, dry-off temperature, & dry-
off air volume to ensure proper equipment
        design

    • Testing is performed on the floor in actual
        test equipment
LABORATORY TESTING
TWO MAIN CATEGORIES OF LABORATORY TESTING

                #2 - Testing the part

There are a variety of testing procedures at our
   disposal.

Test procedures are dictated by the contaminant being
tested for or by the unit of measure used.

• Millipore particulate size test
• Measures maximum particle size on the part
• Expressed in microns (1 micron =.000039")
• Documented for future reference
• Picture taken of particulate
          & sent to client
• Can develop cleanliness specification
          for customer
• Can determine proper part handling
          & fixturing
BUILD & RUN-OFF SCHEDULE
• Updated schedules &
    photographs

• Mechanical testing of
    equipment prior to the customer
    run-off

• Customer run-off with on-site
    parts testing

• Run off unit operated with
    standard tap water during the
    tryout and run-off phases.

• If customer-specified chemical
    run-off, the customer supplies
    chemicals.
START-UP & SERVICE SUPPORT
• Start –Up Assistance

• Training

• Acceptance Testing may be purchased
    as an option

• Includes one (1) factory technician
    scheduled by the customer,
a minimum of 8 days in advance of the
first day the technician is required on
    site.

• Manuals, Drawings and Spare parts lists
    provided

• One year warranty (Reference warranty
    statement)

• Equipment Repair & Refurbishment
    services available
