Over 20 million people in Pakistan were affected by the 2010 floods following heavy monsoon rains, with over 1,384 deaths, 722,000 houses damaged or destroyed, and 1,680 people injured. The floods began in July 2010 and impacted the regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Punjab and Balochistan along the Indus River basin.
