ACCORDING TO FLAYEH HUSSEIN, TOP-LEVEL MANAGERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
SETTING ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS, FORMULATING STRATEGIES, AND MAKING
MAJOR DECISIONS THAT AFFECT THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION. THEY TYPICALLY
HOLD TITLES SUCH AS CEO (CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER), CFO (CHIEF FINANCIAL
OFFICER), OR COO (CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER). THESE EXECUTIVES ARE AT THE
HIGHEST LEVEL OF MANAGEMENT AND HAVE AUTHORITY OVER MULTIPLE
DEPARTMENTS OR THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION.
IN CONTRAST, OPERATIONS MANAGERS ARE USUALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR
OVERSEEING THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF A SPECIFIC
DEPARTMENT OR AREA WITHIN AN ORGANIZATION. THEY ARE INVOLVED
IN PLANNING, ORGANIZING, AND COORDINATING VARIOUS ACTIVITIES
TO ENSURE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE OPERATIONS. THEY MAY BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING A TEAM, ALLOCATING RESOURCES,
MONITORING PERFORMANCE, AND IMPLEMENTING OPERATIONAL
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
