Beauty of Labour Movement (Schönheit der Arbeit) it was designed to improve working conditions in factories and to achieve the appeasement of the general population. It was a propaganda machine, working together with its counterpart organisation Strength Through Joy (KdF). The organization campaigned in factories for: improved cleanliness, better hygiene, proper work attire, changing rooms, lockers, better air, less noise. It introduced washing facilities and low-cost canteens for workers. It was directed by Hitler’s architect Albert Speer, the Minister of Armaments and War Production in Nazi Germany. Campaigns such as the Fight against Noise and Good ventilation in the workplace gave the Nazis the ability to stimulate productivity within the workplace and installing a sense of community and greater cordiality between the government and the German population. Later, communists will use similar ideas in the Soviet-dominated states, under the Iron Curtain of the Cold War. They will be called Syndicates. The idea was popular under both, Nazis, and Communists.
