23. Methodology for creating technology awareness
A 5-stage methodology
Stage 1: Definition of the overall scope and target groups related to the
awareness activities
Stage 2: Identification of SME networks and detection of possible communication
means
Stage 3: Ranking of the networks’ potential impact and matching the networks
with communication means

- Definition of number of SMEs/web
entrepreneurs/sectors to be addressed
- Definition of the geographical scope
- Definition of timeframes
- Definition of expected outcomes
Definition of target groups
- Categories of group
- Type of activities
20/11/2014 FITMAN Support Webinar to A16 24
25. Stage 2: Identification of SME networks and
detection of possible communication means
- Database of relevant networks including all
info (Name, geograph.scope, link to website,
contact details etc.)
- Detection of communication means (News
webpage, Newsletters, Events, Social media
accounts)
20/11/2014 FITMAN Support Webinar to A16 25
26. Stage 3: Ranking of the networks’ potential impact and
matching the networks with communication means
• Ranking of the identified networks based on a
set or criteria (size, type of organisation etc.)
• Matching of networks with communications
means: depending on the profile of the
networks and the channels in place
20/11/2014 FITMAN Support Webinar to A16 26
27. Stage 4: Establishment of an active dialogue
with the interested stakeholders
• The quality/relevance of the information
provided
• The choice of the right communication means

Establishment of indicators in order to monitor
and measure the progress of the activities:
• Indicators attached to the overall objectives of
the plan for the technology awareness
activities
• Indicators attached to the different
components of the activities

Do you have any questions at this time?
15 Specific Enablers (SEs): each is currently being used in multiple FITMAN trials
Coverage of a wide range of domains within IT for manufacturing, i.e. management of virtualised assets, dynamic complex event processing, and semantic matching
Smart Factory Platform: optimisation of production processes via monitoring and management
Digital Factory Platform: quick and cost effective development of innovative services and applications to connect people with the information they need
Virtual Factory Platform: a business collaboration platform that provides tangible and intangible asset management and collaborative business process execution
SE details including documentation, terms and conditions, and download information are at: http://catalogue.fitman.atosresearch.eu/enablers
Regarding accessing the platforms
The FITMAN reference platforms are conceptual architectures which implement business-driven interconnections between FIWARE GEs and FITMAN SEs, all delivered along Open Source licenses. Currently, FIWARE GEs are accessible through http://catalogue.fi-ware.org/enablers, while FITMAN SEs through the FITMAN Catalogue available at http://catalogue.fitman.atosresearch.eu/
The expected convergence between all the sources of FIWARE technologies (being them generic or specific) is one of the major objectives of FI PPP Phase III. Therefore, also the components repositories are expected to be unified and integrated in the short term.
To mention: The pilot of the methodology:
Positive response in collaboration (European level): Fines Cluster, ERRIN, EFFRA
National level: FiBAN-Finnish Business Angels Network
