The NGPC approved the Name Collision Occurrence Management Framework on 30 July 2014 that puts new requirements on registries to mitigate name collision issues.
This session explains what registries are expected to implement, and discuss feedback from those in the community on their experiences so far. It also aims to clarify any points of confusion – such as how RPMs can be treated in relation to this new Framework and how both sets of requirements can be adhered to simultaneously.
This course provides a strong background about JAVA programming language in the field of computing. The course begins with an introductory overview of the Computer and programs, with distinguishes the terms API, IDE and JDK, and gives a comprehensive knowledge about Java development kits and Java integrative development environments like eclipse and NetBeans. Furthermore, the course prepares student to write, compile, run and develop Java applications which are used to find out the solution for several real life problems, in conjunction with using GUI to obtain input, process and display outputs like message dialog boxes, input dialog boxes, confirmation dialog and so on.
JAVA is a computer programming language that is concurrent, class-based, object-oriented, and specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible.
The aim of this course is to explore Java programming fundamentals related to write, compile, run and develop Java applications that are used to discover the solution for several real life problems.
The official learning outcome for this course is: Upon successful completion of the course the students:
• Must know the basic concepts related JAVA programming language.
• Must know how to write, compile, run and develop java applications.
A combination of lectures and practical sessions will be used in this course in order to achieve the aim of the course.

The document summarizes the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. It describes how the US developed atomic weapons through the Manhattan Project during 1941-1945. On August 6th, 1945, the US dropped an atomic bomb called "Little Boy" on Hiroshima from the Enola Gay, killing over 73,000 people. Three days later on August 9th, they dropped a second bomb called "Fat Man" on Nagasaki, killing over 270,000 people. After the bombing of Nagasaki, Japan surrendered, ending World War II.
This document provides an overview and history of the atomic bomb. It discusses key events leading up to World War II and the Manhattan Project's secret development of the first nuclear weapons. The document outlines the Trinity test of the first atomic bomb and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It examines the immediate devastation caused by the bombs and long-term health impacts of radiation exposure. The document concludes by considering the ethical issues raised by the development and use of such a destructive weapon.
The document discusses how artists have reflected scientific and technological innovations in their work, helping shape public understanding of environmental issues. It provides examples of how J.M.W. Turner incorporated new perceptions of speed from rail travel in his painting "Rain, Steam, and Speed" and how architects have been influenced by scientific advances. The document also explains how artists like Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Moran, and photographers helped raise awareness of environmental threats from industry and pollution. Some artists take a long-term view of the landscape and environment in works reflecting ecological concerns and human-induced climate change.

The document argues that dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was justified for several reasons:
1) It saved millions of lives by ending the war sooner than an invasion of Japan would have, avoiding over 1 million American casualties and 10 million Japanese casualties.
2) The Japanese government could have prevented civilian casualties by evacuating cities after leaflets warned of bombings, but they chose not to fully evacuate Hiroshima. They also could have surrendered after the first bomb to prevent the second.
3) Hiroshima was a legitimate military target as it was home to the Japanese 2nd Army and supported war industry.
The document summarizes the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that occurred on August 6th and 9th, 1945. It provides background on the cities, details of the bombs and planes used ("Little Boy" and "Fat Man", Enola Gay and Bockscar), and accounts of the immediate and long-term effects of the bombings including massive casualties, destruction of infrastructure, long-term health impacts. It also discusses memorials and peace efforts in the cities today that commemorate the bombings and those lost.

The Russian nuclear submarine Kursk sank in the Barents Sea off northern Russia during a naval exercise on August 12, 2000. An explosion occurred while the submarine was preparing to test fire a torpedo. The 118 crew members were unable to surface the submarine as it sank to the bottom over 350 feet below. No distress calls were received from the Kursk. The sinking received international attention and led to reforms in how Russia handles submarine disasters.

First Hand from Hiroshima and Nagasaki
1. Reid Dennis (pictured right) was
among some of the first service men
to witness, first hand, the destruc-
tion in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He
has generously shared these photos
from his personal collection.
2. October 1945, roughly two months
after the bombing. Few buildings
were left standing. The now famous
Genbaku dome can be seen in the
background.
3. Today, the dome still stands as it
did in 1945 as a reminder of the
devastation brought by use of
nuclear weapons.

4. Hiroshima City Hall was another
building that survived the blast with
heavy damage that was exacerbated
by fire.
5. It is estimated that between 90,000
to 166,000 people were killed by
the blasts immediate effects. More
suffered the long-term effects of
radioactive fallout.
6. The Children’s Peace Monument at
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park
is inspired by Sadako Sasaki who,
at age two, survived the blast but
contracted leukemia ten years later
as a result of radiation exposure.
The crane she holds has become a
symbol for peace and disarmament.

point on the ground below the
epicenter of the Nagasaki bomb.

9. It is estimated that 60,000 to 80,000
people were killed by the initial
effects of the bombing.

cranes and send a message

can never happen again.
