Greet the students at the door- Say good morning to each child and give them directions to find
their assigned locker and seat.
Bell Ringer- Have the students draw three things that they like d about their summer vacation
Go over class rules
About Me- Show the students a power point that gives them some facts and details about their
teacher.
Activity- Read the story, "First Day Jitters" to the students. We will then make a concept map,
describing any "jitters" that we, as a class, may have. Students will be asked for adjectives to
describe their feelings about the first day of school and we will make a concept map with the
descriptive words. Students will then be given a sheet of paper with a pre-cut circle in it. They
will be instructed to draw and write things about themselves that they want to share with the
class.
