Book of Baruch, ancient text purportedly written by Baruch, secretary and friend of Jeremiah, the Old Testament prophet. The text is still extant in Greek and in several translations from Greek into Latin, Syriac, Coptic, Ethiopic, and other languages. The Book of Baruch is apocryphal to the Hebrew and Protestant canons but was incorporated in the Septuagint and was included in the Old Testament for Roman Catholics. The work is a compilation of several authors and is the only work among the apocrypha that was consciously modeled after the prophetic writings of the Old Testament.
The Gospel of James or The Protevangelion is a second-century infancy gospel telling of the miraculous conception of the Virgin Mary, her upbringing and marriage to Joseph, the journey of the couple to Bethlehem, the birth of Jesus, and events immediately following.
1 Esdras is the ancient Greek Septuagint version of the biblical Book of Ezra in use within the early church, and among many modern Christians with varying degrees of canonicity. 1 Esdras is substantially similar to the standard Hebrew version of Ezra–Nehemiah, with the passages specific to the career of Nehemiah removed or re-attributed to Ezra, and some additional material.
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. LUKE 1:26-33
The Book of Habakkuk is the eighth book of the 12 minor prophets of the Bible. It is attributed to the prophet Habakkuk, and was probably composed in the late 7th century BC. The original text was written in the Hebrew language.

2. LUKU 1
Naftali, Jaakobin ja Bilhan kahdeksas poika.
Juoksija. Fysiologian oppitunti.
1 Naftalin testamentin jäljennös, jonka hän
asetti kuollessaan
sadankolmennenkymmenennen elämänsä
vuotena.
2 Kun hänen poikansa olivat koolla
seitsemännessä kuussa, kuukauden
ensimmäisenä päivänä, ollessaan vielä
hyvässä kunnossa, hän järjesti heille aterian
ruoalla ja viinillä.
3 Ja herättyään aamulla hän sanoi heille:
minä kuolen; eivätkä he uskoneet häntä.
antoi minun nimeni Naftali.
7 Sillä Raakel rakasti minua suuresti, koska
synnyin hänen sylissään; ja kun olin vielä
nuori, hänellä oli tapana suudella minua ja
sanoa: Saanko minun kohdustani veljesi,
sinun kaltaisensi.
vatsa jauhamiseen, henkitorvi
hengittämiseen, maksa vihaan, sappi
katkeruuteen, perna nauruun, ohjakset
varovaisuuteen, lanteiden lihakset voimaa
Jumalan lakia tekojenne
epäjärjettömyydessä.
25 Pakanat menivät harhaan ja hylkäsivät
Herran ja määräsivät järjestyksensä ja
tottelivat kiviä, petoksen henkiä.
26 Mutta te, lapseni, älkää tehkö niin, kun
tunnistatte taivaanvahvuudessa, maan päällä
ja meressä ja kaikessa luodussa Herran, joka
loi kaiken, jotta teistä ei tulisi Sodoman
kaltaisia, jotka muutti luonto.
27 Samoin myös Vartijat muuttivat
luontonsa järjestystä, jotka Herra kirosi
vedenpaisumuksessa, jonka tähden Hän teki
maan asukkaattomiksi ja hedelmättömäksi.
28 Nämä asiat minä sanon teille, lapseni,
sillä olen lukenut Henokin kirjoituksesta,
että teidänkin tulee lähteä Herrasta, vaeltaen
kaiken pakanain laittomuuden mukaan, ja
teidän tulee tehdä kaiken pahuuden mukaan.
Sodoma.
29 Ja Herra tuo sinun päällesi vankeuden, ja
siellä te palvelette vihoanne mies, ja teidät
kumarretaan kaikista ahdistuksista ja
ahdistuksista, kunnes Herra on kuluttanut
teidät kaikki.
30 Ja kun olette vähentyneet ja vähentyneet,
te palaatte ja tunnustatte Herraa, teidän
Jumalaanne; ja hän tuo sinut takaisin
maahanne suuren armonsa mukaan.
31 Ja on tapahtuva, että tultuaan isiensä
maahan he unohtavat jälleen Herran ja
tulevat jumalattomaksi.
32 Ja Herra hajottaa heidät yli kaiken maan,
kunnes tulee Herran armo, mies, joka tekee
vanhurskautta ja laupeutta kaikille niille,
jotka ovat kaukana, ja niille, jotka ovat
lähellä.
KAPPALE 2
Hän vetoaa säännölliseen elämään. Jakeet
27-30 ovat merkittäviä heidän ikuisesta
viisaudestaan.
1 Sillä neljäntenäkymmenentenä vuoteni
minä näin näyn Öljymäellä, Jerusalemin
itäpuolella, että aurinko ja kuu seisoivat
paikallaan.
2 Ja katso, Iisak, isäni isä, sanoi meille:
Juokse ja tartu heihin, kukin voimansa
mukaan; ja aurinko ja kuu kuuluvat sille,
joka ne tarttuu.
3 Ja me kaikki juoksimme yhteen, ja Leevi
tarttui aurinkoon, ja Juuda ohitti muut ja
valloitti kuun, ja he molemmat nousivat ylös
tarttuivat heihin.
6 Ja katso, härkä maan päällä, jolla on kaksi
suurta sarvea ja kotkan siivet selässään; ja
me halusimme ottaa hänet kiinni, mutta
emme voineet.
sanoi: Assyrialaiset, meedialaiset,
persialaiset, kaldealaiset, syyrialaiset ottavat
vankeudessa Israelin kaksitoista sukukuntaa.
9 Ja taas seitsemän päivän kuluttua minä
näin isämme Jaakobin seisovan Jamnian
meren rannalla, ja me olimme hänen
kanssaan.
4. 10 Ja katso, ohi kulki laiva ilman
merimiehiä tai luotsia; ja laivaan oli
kirjoitettu: Jaakobin laiva.
11 Ja isämme sanoi meille: Tulkaa,
astukaamme laivaamme.
13 Ja me, myrskyn saastuttamina,
kuljetettiin meren yli; ja laiva täyttyi vedellä,
ja voimakkaat aallot löivät sitä, kunnes se
hajosi.
14 Ja Joosef pakeni pienellä veneellä, ja me
kaikki jaettiin yhdeksän laudan päälle, ja
Leevi ja Juuda olivat yhdessä.
15 Ja me kaikki olimme hajallaan maan
ääriin asti.
16 Silloin Leevi säkkipuvussa vyötettynä
rukoili meidän kaikkien puolesta Herraa.
17 Ja kun myrsky lakkasi, laiva saavutti
maan ikäänkuin rauhassa.
18 Ja katso, isämme tuli, ja me kaikki
iloitsimme yksimielisesti.
19 Nämä kaksi unta kerroin isälleni; ja hän
sanoi minulle: "Näiden pitää toteutuvan
aikanaan, sen jälkeen kun Israel on kärsinyt
paljon."
20 Silloin isäni sanoi minulle: Minä uskon
Jumalan, että Joosef elää, sillä minä näen
aina, että Herra laskee hänet teidän
joukkoonne.
21 Ja hän sanoi itkien: "Voi minua, poikani
Joosef, sinä elät, vaikka en näe sinua, etkä
sinä näe Jaakobia, joka sinut synnytti."
22 Niinpä hän sai minutkin itkemään näillä
sanoilla, ja minä poltin sydämessäni
julistaakseni, että Joosef oli myyty, mutta
minä pelkäsin veljiäni.
23 Ja katso! Lapseni, minä olen näyttänyt
teille viimeiset ajat, kuinka kaikki tapahtuu
Israelissa.
24 Käske siis myös lapsianne liittymään
Leeviin ja Juudaan; sillä heidän kauttansa
pelastus tulee Israelille, ja heissä Jaakob on
siunattu.
25 Sillä heidän sukukuntiensa kautta on
oleva Jumala, joka asuu ihmisten
keskuudessa maan päällä, pelastaakseen
Israelin sukukunnan ja kootakseen
vanhurskaat pakanain joukosta.
30 Sillä on aika, jolloin miehellä on syleillä
vaimoaan, ja aikansa pidättäytyä siitä
rukouksessaan.
31 Joten on kaksi käskyä; ja ellei niitä tehdä
asianmukaisessa järjestyksessä, ne
aiheuttavat ihmisten päälle hyvin suuren
synnin.
32 Niin on myös muiden käskyjen kanssa.
33 Olkaa siis viisaita Jumalassa, lapseni, ja
ymmärtäväisiä, ymmärtäen hänen
käskyjensä järjestyksen, d jokaisen sanan
lait, jotta Herra rakastaisi sinua,
