5. Business Model
The Group’s business model objective for managing the financial asset is achieved by
❖ Collecting contractual cash flows and selling the financial assets
❖ The contractual terms of the financial asset give rise on specified dates to cash flows that
are solely payments of principal and interest on the principal amount outstanding.
10. Alarming Signals from Company’s Financials
● The Interest Coverage Ratio has been decreasing over the years which indicates that the
company may default on its loan payments.
● The company is facing an Inventory pile up over the years. So, either their consumption is
not as per the market standards or maybe they are producing much more than the
requirements. Both don’t augur well for the company.

● The capital structure of Asian Paints consists of 99.5 crore of Authorised Equity Share
Capital of face value of Re. 1 each. The issued equity share capital is of 95.92 crore.
● The capital structure also consists of debt, which includes secured and unsecured
borrowings such as term loans from banks, loan from State of Haryana, loans repayable on
demand from banks and financial institutions, cash credit and overdraft accounts.
