Introduction
Radio signals are part of our daily lives; they are
emitted both by natural sources such as the sun,
the earth and the ionosphere, as well as by artificial
sources such as
• mobile base stations
• television broadcasting towers
• radar installations
• mobile terminals
• electrical and electronic equipment

I'VE READ THAT MOBILE PHONES COULD CAUSE CANCERS. IS IT TRUE ?
WHAT DOES CLASSIFICATION OF RADIO SIGNALS MEAN AS "POSSIBLE CARCINOGENS"?
I AM NEAR A BASE STATION.I HAVE A RISK?
WHY ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF MOBILE PHONES IN HOSPITALS?
WHY CAN NOT I USE MY MOBILE PHONE WHEN I TAKE THE AIRCRAFT?
HOW CAN WE KNOW THAT NEW RADIO TECHNOLOGIES ARE SAFE?
DOES LESSER DAS REPORT A SAFE PHONE?
These are the common questions
5. Reglementations and institutions

International exposure guidelines are protective for all people and no special precautions
are necessary for the use of mobile phones. If people are worried, they may choose to limit
their exposure by reducing the length of their calls or using so-called hands-free devices
that move the mobile phone away from the head and body. Bluetooth headsets use very
low radio powers and also reduce exposure.

6. Reglementations and institutions
6
The field of radiocommunications is regulated by the International Telecommunication
Union (ITU) which has established a Radio Regulations in which the following definition
can be read:
Radio waves or hertzian waves: "electromagnetic waves whose frequency is less than
300 GHz, propagating in space without an artificial guide"; they are between 9 kHz and
300 GHz which correspond to wavelengths of 33 km to 1 mm

Conclusions of scientific research
In the case of biological effects and medical applications of non-ionizing radiation, approximately
25,000 articles have been published in the last 30 years. Although some people believe that more
research is needed, scientific knowledge in this area is now more extensive than for most chemicals.
On the basis of a recent in-depth review of the scientific literature, the WHO concluded that current
evidence does not support the existence of health consequences of exposure to low-intensity
electromagnetic fields. However, further research is still needed because gaps in knowledge of
biological effects exist.
Effects on pregnancy outcome
Many different sources and exposures to electromagnetic fields in the living and working environment,
including computer screens, water beds and electric blankets, radiofrequency welding machines, diathermy
equipment and radar, have been evaluated by the WHO and other organizations. The overall weight of
evidence shows that exposure to fields at typical environmental levels does not increase the risk of any
adverse outcome such as spontaneous abortions, malformations, low birth weight, and congenital
diseases.

Recommendations:
• Based on evaluation of all scientific evidence
• Include substantial reduction factors
• Protective of all persons (young, old, sick) from
all established hazards
ICNIRP is an independent group of international experts responsible for
providing scientific advice on possible health effects and for assisting in the
development of protection policies

CONCLUSION
Health is a sensible and is very important
aspect. To preserve health, it’s necessary to
compliance with regulations
Harmonisation of policy with international
recommendations is very important to reduce
the possible risks associated with the use of
telecommunication tools in all forms. so that
between countries there is a synchronization
especially at the borders I pay attention
indeed on the latter. Because it facilitates
many agreements between border states.
