This is my
chance
To express
some one else’s
truth
behind their
smile
The yellow pillow represents what the world sees and the grey pillow represents the true feelings behind the smile.
We can see a young girl with a smile on her face, but her smile makes you guess if its genuine.
If you look at her mouth she looks happy. Now try focusing on her eyes. They look as if they are filled with sorrow.
This a photo of myself holding my dog on the beach. That is my hometown beach in the background.
I chose a candid shot of myself to bring together my brand mantra of, “expressing the candid moments.”
This is a film in the progress of being made. It reminded me of how much fun I had with my cousins making our films in Memphis.
When our film got picked to play in theaters we felt like we were on top of the world which is why I chose this photo.
I was the captain of my high school cheerleading team and this is exactly what my Friday nights consisted of. These girls faces are priceless. You can tell they are genuinely having fun in this candid photo and the smiles are not forced.
We were told that regardless of what happens, never forget to smile. It did not matter whether the smile was fake or real. Our coach would say, “fake it ’til you make it.” You notice the girl up front has an injured ankle but still puts on a fake smile for the camera.
Covering up her face with an “X” to show there was no truth to her emotion.
This is a candid photo of me and the other coaches at the gym that we worked and cheered at. No smile is forced in this photo. The candid photos show true emotion because you are not expecting anyone to notice you.
This was my team huddle before a competition. Our faces show our inner emotion. You can see the fear but hopefulness in each person’s eyes.
This was taken after a performance and by glancing through the faces, you can see every emotion each person was feeling. No one was ready to smile for the camera. We were just being ourselves and the camera caught the truth.
I left this slide completely black and white to express the depression it caused me. A strike is through the word broke to emphasize its importance.
This represents how I felt trying to figure out what to do next. I was stuck in a confusing place and I knew I was not going to be performing for a crowd and cameras anytime soon.
This also represent how I lifted myself up after coming to terms with my future. It shows the hope I had in myself to get up and keep going.
This photo shows myself at 20 in a candid moment. It expresses how I dress, walk, and take care of myself for my video diary.
I am expressing that I documented my whole life for a year and it was mostly candid moment like this picture. It shows who I am without me posing for the camera.
I an expressing how in my video diary at age 20 I kept no secrets. I filmed the good moments, the bad moments, and the ugly moments.
Filming my life for an entire year made me realize it was more than just a hobby. It was something I was very passionate about.
I was never sure what I wanted to do in life, so I went to college for a basic General AA degree. This picture shows the excitement of finally graduating.
I felt Full Sail University was the best school choice for me and what I was planning to do as a career.
I chose a photo of myself that I took the first month of my second year. Having a photo of myself makes it more personal.
I chose this photo of someone in a mask representing how people with personality disorders are confused with who they really are.
This man filming shows what position I would be in to film someone apparently having a break down.
Getting some one willing to film their life and their breakdowns is hard to find but totally worth it.
This photo of me gives the reader a more personal feel as the text says “so here I am.”
I ended this by repeating my brand mantra of “expressing the candid moments.” I feel it ties my entire project together and reminds you why I am here doing what I do.
