Fast Car
The song is about a woman who wants to escape her current life situation. [1] She asks her boyfriend to take her away in his fast car to anywhere else, as she is unhappy with her life and job. [2] She recalls how being with her boyfriend in the past made her feel like she could make something of herself and be someone. [3] However, over time it seems their lives have not improved and the boyfriend does not work and spends more time drinking than with his family, so the woman realizes she needs to leave to find the life she wants.

Alcoholaddiction
Over 100,000 deaths in the US each year are caused by excessive alcohol consumption, and underage drinkers often obtain alcohol from friends and family. Nearly 14 million Americans meet the diagnostic criteria for alcohol use disorders, and minors who drink alcohol are 50 times more likely to use cocaine than those who never drink. Males are four times as likely as females to be heavy drinkers, and over 18% of Americans experience alcohol abuse or dependence at some point in their lives.
Juvenile drug use binder
This document discusses juvenile drug use and proposes alternatives to address the issue. Teen Suicide ppt.
Suicide is the third leading cause of death for teens aged 15-24. According to a 2008 survey, 24.1% of students had seriously considered suicide, 17.7% had a specific plan, and 8.7% had attempted it. Female students were more likely than male students to consider or attempt suicide. Some common causes of stress for teens include school, work, parents, money, and relationships. The average stress level reported by students was 6.5 out of 10. Most students felt alone or knew someone who had considered suicide.
Adolescents & illegal substances

Suicide is the third leading cause of death among youth ages 15 to 24, accounting for over 12% of deaths. Gay, lesbian, and bisexual youth are 4 times more likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers. Nearly half of young transgender people have seriously considered suicide and one quarter have attempted it. Questioning or unsure youth report even higher rates of substance abuse and depressed thoughts than their LGBT or heterosexual peers. LGB youth are more likely to use drugs and alcohol at an earlier age and engage in riskier behaviors. More than 75% of sexual minority youth report verbal abuse while 15% report physical abuse, and losing friends due to coming out predicts poorer mental health.
