1. To be bold is to be a mover. Gandhi didn’t
create change in the world by watching his
life go by from the side lines– he took action.
The Suffragettes didn’t create change by
listening to laws made by men– they
persevered and challenged society. Movers
and shakers are not only found in History
books– Designers too have the power to
create change. Challenge the norms, design
to benefit society, speak to viewers through
designs to make them see the world through
a different set of eyes. Be inventive. Be a
leader. Be a challenger. Be BOLD.

2. Social Station
By incorporating aspects of
both co-working and social
retail, this project engages and
welcomes the community to
become involved. This space is
a destination for locals, tourists
and business folk to work away
from home by day and allows
local vendors and shoppers to
utilize the social retail elements
by night. Mobile and dual
purpose furniture will allow the
space to be transformed
quickly and efficiently from day
to night activities. The variety
of spaces such as touch down
areas, collaboration spaces, the
rejuvenation center and
kitchenette provides users with
a multitude of choices for their
experience at the social station.

3. Social Station
The social station was strategically laid out with
collaborative public areas on the east side and
heads down private areas on the west side. The
separation allows for users to be able to choose
which area they can be most productive in.

4. Locomotives allowed Dallas to
become involved in trading with
the rest of the country. Trains
became a reoccurring theme in
this design to instill Texas Pride
and pay tribute to the piece of
technology that gave life to
Texas. In addition, this design
embraces the characteristics of
the historic building as well as
incorporate cultural elements of
the Dallas area. The space will
have a Texas flair by including
textured woods and Aztec prints.
By incorporating deep red, burnt
orange and plum hues, the space
will take on a resimmercial
atmosphere promoting wellness
in the work place by instilling a
home-like ambiance in a
commercial setting.

5. Steampunk Boutique
This high end boutique carries various steampunk
apparel for spunky individuals who go against the
grain. “Steam”, embedded in the term that describes
the style itself, refers to when technologies were
powered by steam. This explains why this particular
style gives off a vintage edge. If I were to describe
Steampunk myself, it would be Rebellious Victorian.
It includes all of the elegance of the Victorian era
with a punkish, gothic flair.

6. Steampunk Boutique
The surroundings of "Steamy Style" is meant to
enhance the shopper's experience. I incorporated aged
bronze and metal tones with deep red hues to instill a
rich Victorian atmosphere. The porcelain tile with a
brick facade will aesthetically add to the design while
the material will stand up in a commercial setting.
These selections will combine the elegance of the
Victorian age with a punkish gothic punch.

7. My Client was extremely protective of the
environment and remained alert in regards to
where materials were sourced, how they were
gathered and preferred local resources. Every
material I selected positively benefitted the
environment. My client was a vegetarian so I
incorporated an indoor garden as well as multiple
large windows to allow an abundance of natural
light to flow through the space.
Key words my client provided included Natural
and Minimalistic. To achieve these desired traits,
the space was designed to be open and
incorporated many windows and plants. My client
was thrilled with the final results.

8. The focus of this design project was to
develop my interview skills and abilities to
deliver the wants and needs of my client.
This assignment also tested my skills in
working in an area with limited square
footage. This entailed meticulous floor
planning, CAD and sketch up skill
development. While keeping in mind the
principles and elements of design, my
project created a harmonious space that
integrated green materials and a
minimalist layout.
My client expressed a great importance
on sustainable and ecofriendly materials.
Every selection I made regarding anything
from exterior finishes to bathroom
plumbing has been with a green lens. To
ensure that the materials I selected were
suitable to my client’s preference, I made
sure to do background research on every
element I included in my clients Tiny
House.

9. Salvation Army Boutique
My interiors for the Salvation Army boutique
will engage shoppers and create an
environment which they will want to come
back time and again. My color scheme
utilizes a fresh take on the complimentary
colors of green and red. In my design, I've
selected teal and maroon hues to mimic
something familiar while adding an
unexpected twist. I've also selected textured
woods to add interest to the space as well as
bushed nickel finishes to add warmth with a
contemporary flair. I've selected recycled
materials to stay in sync with the
environmentally friendly message that is tied
to thrifting.

10. Salvation Army Boutique
To promote safety and well being of the
workers at the Milwaukee Salvage
Company, I've grouped together all of
the private employee areas so that the
facility can be managed with less workers
ultimately saving money to run the
facility with less hands on deck.
Technology has been interjected as well
to suit the needs of millennial users and
bring in a younger age group to
encourage the next generation to get
excited about giving back to the
community and doing the most good.
